    Hi, sorry for my late answer
    A newbie is simply somebody new to hive and ecency
    Discord is not a part of hive eco system. Its a plattform similar to WhatsApp or Telegram.
    And ecency discord is a place there, where we meet, chat and exchange knowledge :-)
