As for the coping, I try to do something different every Monday. Throws people off and eases them out of going directly to work topics.

• Be extremely over the board enthusiastically happy
• Whistle a christmas song during a heat wave
• Pimp up the company uniform with something small but personal like a button or other accessory
• Say hello in a different language
• Make it a theme day (e.g. techy on Star Trek Day or speak medieval or try to incorporate advertisement slogans)
• and so on
