If I could mute anything in 2025, I would mute war and all violence between countries.
It's not a politically correct answer, it's the truth. I could talk about muting the blackouts in my country (that was my first impulse), but those are problems that could be largely solved if there were no wars and my country didn't have conflicts with others. The solution to many problems would be the end of violence and wars.
There are so many things I wish could be muted in 2025 and if I have the power to mute just one, my choice would be to silence poverty forever.
A lot is going on out there, people are suffering. Some people have not eaten since the day broke. Some people can not afford their bills, some can't go to school, or even have access to authentic medical attention due to the fact that they are poor.
Poverty has reduced many to nothing, dreams, goals, bright future and great destinies have been silenced by poverty.
Nothing hurts like seeing people like you and I on the street without home, clothes and even have to beg to eat.
I know, some will say, they should get a job, which is not bad but sometimes, poverty is like a clothe, anyone wearing it gets rejected and thrown out.
Some people are working but what they earn is not sufficient to feed themselves, pay bills and to support their loved ones.
It's very painful. I wish the world can exist without poverty. This is why if I am given the opportunity to make one thing go mute, poverty would never be heard anyone in the world again.
If I Could Mute One Thing in 2025...
It would be the deafening silence that follows the first news cycle of a disaster. My choice is to mute the swift, collective forgetting of ongoing suffering.
My mind goes directly to the flood refugees from Aceh, Indonesia, after the devastating deluge on November 28th. For a few days, their plight was everywhere—images of submerged homes, frantic rescues, crowded evacuation tents. The world nodded in sympathy. Then, the news cycle moved on. That is the silence I wish to mute.
The real struggle begins now, in these long months of 2025, as thousands remain displaced, livelihoods are ruined, and children's education is interrupted. The muted part is their daily battle for clean water, mental health, and hope. It’s the fading public attention that makes rebuilding feel even more isolating.
So, in 2025, I want to mute the transition from headline to footnote. Instead, I wish to amplify the sustained, often quiet, narrative of recovery. Let’s keep the volume up on their stories, their needs, and our shared responsibility long after the floodwaters have receded. True compassion is measured not in our initial shock, but in our enduring attention. As a teacher from Aceh, I believe our collective memory should be the loudest sound of all.
Voice From Aceh
If I could mute one thing in 2025, it would definitely be the voice of cyber bullies! This year, on social media, lots of people, especially celebrities and professionals in various fields, suffered with their mental health the most because these media bullies chose to be unkind with their words at every turn. They consistently bully others for simply living, for sharing information online, for having harmless opposing views, and I think that's one of the most depressing things I had to observe this year.
So if could, I would mute them entirely on social media so there's less mean behaviour in our faces!
Yeah, that's really annoying. Some do it for just clout chasing. It's so disheartening what people do these days for anything or no good reason. That would be something to mute indeed.
If I could mute one thing in 2025, it'd be crypto market FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt). Those endless panic posts on Hive, Twitter, and Discord every time Bitcoin dips 5%,they drown out the real wins like staking rewards and Splinterlands battles. Let's crank up the HBDAP and holiday vibes instead! 🎄🚀
Downvotes. But you have already done that haven't you @ecency ?
If I could mute a thing, it would be "constructive outrage". Those kinds of social media noise where people argue for the sake of it, trying to get certain engagement, and not because they actually want to solve a problem.
I have been in an environment where readership is not right. Where the leaders suppresses their subordinates, take their rights, cheat them, and even stop their little benefits. Seeing this thing happen in my space, grief my heart
"In answering today's question, if I could mute one thing, what could it be".
I will mute power out of these sets of humans and stop them suppressing other, taking them off the leadership position for others to be free.
Those kinds of people don't last long or get far that way. They're useless. But while they're around, they're a nuisance. I understand.
Honestly I feel so pained being in an environment where people's right are taken away from them.
Good morning, everyone. If I could silence one thing about 2025 (no offense to anyone), it would be the syndrome of people who believe they are animals, called zoanthropy, although I would call it schizophrenia. People definitely went crazy enough to believe they were animals, and even adults identified as children and vice versa. These people took their madness to the extreme because they just wanted attention or content to post, and that desire to get more followers is undoubtedly crazy. There are also those who do viral challenges that don't end well, who only do it for virtual fame and end up harming society.
Nowadays, with easy access to social media and the internet, instead of wasting it by doing stupid things in certain videos, let's take advantage of it and do something worth watching, something that is truly an example to follow. There are many ways to have fun in a healthy way, but nowadays, what is fun for some ends up being fatal for others.
Christmas is a great time to tap into extra perks, and Hive often rolls out special holiday benefits for its users... many platforms use the season to boost rewards, think bonus credits, discounted subscriptions, or exclusive gift cards that can be applied to Hive services. Like, charitable campaigns like the “Christmas Giving Insights” report highlight how brands can amplify donations during the holidays, which mirrors the kind of community focused.
Greetings to everyone. 😊 If given the chance to mute one thing in 2025, it would be the inflation. Here in our country inflation often goes higher day by day. And i am worried to those people whom have poor income which could worsen the value and opportunity for everybody. I am hoping for a country where there is hope, opportunities and fair value for everyone.
If I could mute one thing in 2025, it would be the constant stream of personalized ads that follow me across the internet. I understand that targeted advertising is a part of modern life, but the sheer volume and invasiveness of it have become overwhelming. It feels like my every online move is being tracked and analyzed, and I'm constantly bombarded with ads that are tailored to my perceived needs and desires.
It would definitely silence dictatorships and human rights abusers. In short, to hatred and selfishness.
Hi ecentials! Glad to be here again! If I could mute 🔕 one thing in 2025, surely it will be wars and horror. That noise is blocking peace sound and making stronger the sounds of bombs, tears and deaths. So many people have been affected by wars this year, even here in America, it is about to possibly start one. They all are because of selfishness, power and economy. Two governments that cannot share in peace make all their citizens suffer and lose everything.
I wish I could have that superpower and I can make it for real. I think the world will be happier, more beautiful and everybody could sing the same song; a song of peace and love.
hmm posts about religion
If I'm to mute one thing in 2025, I Will mute totally and forever,
The high inflation in my country,
Wicked leadership by those in the seat of power in my country,
kidnapping and killings and so much cheating, I will totally mute all of theabo
Thank you, #ecency
Silence car horns, perhaps use some kind of warning lights, as the daily noise pollution in my home or on the street ends up being very catastrophic.
This was a year that tested me in many ways, some things went very well and others didn't, so I wouldn't keep anything to myself, because everything bad happens for a reason and when you realize it later, it's what allows you to be stronger, and that applies to many areas of life. That's why everything I could keep quiet about, I will improve for next year as long as it's within my power.
I will mute the negative behavior of people close to me early before it transforms to a serious crisis in my life.
For various reasons, 2025 has not been the best or most pleasant of my 61 years of life, but neither has it been the worst.
Although there are many things I wish I could silence, such as the difficulties I have had to go through, or the injustices we see every day in different corners of the world, I do not want to have the enormous responsibility of being able to change things at will, even for my own benefit. I firmly believe that all experiences, good or bad, teach us a great lesson.
I will mute inconsistent
If I could mute one thing in 2025, it would be noise. Yes, noise.
There's a lot of noise permeating social media and even our physical world. When I say noise, I don't mean the outpour of unwanted sounds like people chatting, the car honking, birds singing, insects chirping or so. I mean the incessant, needless, fruitless and reckless content, words, actions and the lot people put out for some reason.
This is mostly with the social media space. A lot of such noise went on and is going on there. There's a lot of clout chasing and because people buy into it, and social media is free to say or do what you want, everyone makes their noise. It's causing drastic effects that might not be seen, but it's doing a lot.
So, that's what I'll probably mute. But I'm no superhero. Haha!
There are difficulties we sometimes wish to address, but governments have already silenced us enough. They say things happen for a reason and that everything teaches us something. I wish I could address the many difficulties people are facing around the world. Well, these are just wishes, and it's within our power to ask. Merry Christmas.
Another complex question...
If I could silence one thing in 2025, it would be the discourse of hypocrites, those who say one thing to appear good, but whose actions reflect the opposite. I would silence those who offend for the sheer pleasure of offending and causing harm.
