Short backstory.

When I moved in where I live know back in August 2022, there was a big renovation going on. They were note renovating on the building I live in, but they were about to. I found that out the hard way, when I came home after I came home one morning after I had gotten my daughter to school.

I walked in the door and saw some big machinery right in my small garden, tearing it apart, pulling it up. It was quite nice to see, fascinating. I had to remove my grill and my furniture from there for them not to destroy it.

Renovation begins

They started putting up scaffolding around the building, and blocked out daylight.

Then they renovate certain apartments (obviously, not mine) and that was very noicy! Drilling, knocking down walls, tearing everything apart in those apartments.

I work from home, so this gave me a lot of headaches.

For about 6 months that was all that was going on. Just noice.

Indoor renovations

In my apartment, all they did was to change the windows. Everything else happened on the outside for me, but in many other (empty) apartments, they did a full remake of the interior. Some was even made bigger by combining 2 apartments into one.

Current progress

They are still not done with the renovations. For instance, I don't have my small garden back yet.

Luckily the scaffolding has been removed a few months ago, but over a year tucked away inside that.
Nearly two years without having my small garden to use. It's a real test, especially this summer, as the scaffolding is gone. It was there the entire summer of 2023. That was a real bummer!

Compared to how the building looked before the renovation, it's much more attractive now.
