RE: Snaps Container // 1734445440

in Snapslast month

Anybody seeing this similar? As great as this #winterchallange is, that also snaps about it gain points flushes the feed with way too much traveldigest content. This and holozing snaps, together they ruin the balance and make scrolling through it less attractive.

Sort:

Hey @stayoutoftherz thanks for your feedback. We first came up with this activity to promote snaps. But we understand your concern and we'll keep this suggestion into account for future challenges.

I agree. The holozing ones have decreased a bit though.
I've asked the PeakD team for implementing a filter so we can filter out communities and/or tags, but it seems quite difficult to implement.

Hello @friendlymoose thank you very much for your feedback on snaps within communities. We think the @peakd team will certainly help us to create a friendlier environment for all snap users.

Its all fine. It's only this month isn't it?
It would be better when people would share one image from one of their own blogs it would be different, but all posts are the same with a link to the report.

You do get some nice promotion though 😉

That's right, it's just December and it has been a test to help us understand how snaps work and how it's embraced. With all this promotion, we can propose something better next time. Your idea is quite good, thank you very much!

You're welcome! Travel shots can be very interesting for microblogging.

We have been learning a lot from it and it would be nice if people still use it in our community after December for exactly that: Travel shots 😊

I agree.

However, I still believe that a solution has to be implemented on the frontend. Same as @friendlymoose suggested below.

Filters to suit individual user preferences.

Greetings @stayoutoftherz ,

Yes...it is hard not to miss...it seems a bit too much, to be sure.

As much as I appreciate their enthusiasm especially as it relates to Snaps...It is crowding the space.

Thank you for mentioning it.

Cheers!

That's right, this kind of feedback helps us a lot to act in the best way so that we can build with your suggestions a better ecosystem. We value your opinions very much!

Thank you @worldmappin for your kind objectivity....Your project is quite interesting and your enthusiasm is contagious!

Kind Regards and Happy Christ-mas!

Bleujay

We are so glad that we can spread the enthusiasm and love for the project to all of you. Many thanks again for the feedback and we hope you have a happy holiday season!

Yes, but that just seems to be Hive. Every microblog option on Hive is dominated by some sort of daily sharing.

Yes, not sure if this is the best to attract outsiders.

I'm not really sure we want to attract outsiders, it will just turn this place into Twitter.

I am very sure that we need to be attractive to people not yet on Hive, as our business model depends on gaining new users.

Is there some point at which that is no longer necessary? No matter how popular you become, at some point, there are just no more new users to add.

This point might come, but we are far from that!

If we don't know where that point is, how do we know how far we are from it?

Yes I agree, but then again what is snaps meant to be.

Something like Twitter/X?

Hi @stayoutoftherz thanks for the feedback, even a critical on helps.

We will stop all this end of December and will definitely think about different metrics on any next challenge.

It is a learning for our team and on the other hand a success to engage people.

If you have any creative idea for future activities I love to discuss this with you.

Not really, but everything that favors quality over quantity would go in the right direction.

Will take this to the next decisions for any further challenges.

Looks like I'm one of the active snappers of chess content. How do we encourage our members to do so?

I feel the same sometimes, but I prefer to think this is just a "temporary fever".

You underestimated the dynamics of a competition and greed. If there is an opportunity to gain points in order to get something for free, people will do excessively regardless of any other aspects. If in January there is the next competition people will follow.

This is sadly true.
