Is he 'Geralt of Rivia' from the Witchers series? Not sure about the extortion part but he loves to drink elixirs or whatever they drink and has white hairs + very old too (according to human years). I just played the Witchers 3.
Yes! You can always push the peasants for more money for the jobs, hence the extortion bit.
