Apparently, millions are moving from TikTok to China's Red Note app. I support this. The heavy censorship should help eradicate the degeneracy of the West. We're sick and need healing!

Is the new app any good?
Browser version looks a lot like TikTok but in Chinese.

I've no idea I'm not about to use it. I see my wife browse it although here in China it's called xiao hong shu (little red book, which is literally a reference to Chairman Mao's book of quotes...)

And... it's the dullest, most pointless content I've ever seen XD

Why they are even banning TikTok? I heard that owner is in US anyways.

Last I heard, some paranoia about China stealing user data and manipulating the content algorithms for political gain. No idea how legit it is, though

I can say that the version in China is a LOT more family friendly, actively removes the degenerate stuff that is perpetuated to little kids on western TikTok

That app is certainly being heavily promoted now (USA Today, Newsweek, NBC, Wired, etc etc) 🙄

Yeah I think it's just one of many trending things that boom and bust. Bluesky, threads, etc

The question is will the government start playing wack-a-mole with with these Chinese apps? Ban one and another pops up doing the same thing. 🤔

Yeah that crossed my mind too, or just any app made outside the US... weird

Only US companies are allowed to spy on you and steal all your data!

Does TikTok still exist? 😄

To be fair I've never been on it, it just seems to be a thing other people do
