Learning To Thrive And Adapt In An Ever-Changing World || LOH Contest #273

in Ladies of Hiveyesterday

Living in a world that has largely gone digital has made me realize just how much change we have experienced in recent times. It has reshaped how we consume information, how we learn, and how we translate new knowledge into practical use in our daily lives.

For many people, acquiring skills and knowledge in an ever-changing world feels like a mountain that requires extra effort to climb. I believe it's being viewed through this lens because such people are still accustomed to older methods of learning. For others, age plays a significant role in how they learn and adapt to changes. In the middle of everything, I've realized that for us to truly thrive in today’s world, embracing digitalization is essential. It is one of the main ways I equip myself to navigate the transitions of our century.

Embracing digitalization, for me, means being willing to learn and unlearn ideas and concepts that no longer serve both the world and myself. It means taking time to study new technologies and becoming familiar with them, regardless of how challenging they may seem at first. Digital platforms like YouTube and X are the most important tools I use for learning, and the result has been a more informed and well-equipped mind and easier lifestyle.

The valuable lessons I gain from these platforms everyday have shown me that digitalization is not just crucial, but beneficial to me if I want to continue communicating, learning, and working effectively in a world that isn't static.

However, none of this is possible without curiosity. To cope in a world that is constantly evolving, I have made it a commitment to protect the childlike curiosity within me and ensure that nothing dims my bright desire for knowledge. Whenever something new piques my interest, whether it is a new language, a feminist theory, an invention, insight into a different culture, or learning how to use a fast-growing technology, I ensure to follow it up. I read about it, watch relevant videos, and engage in both virtual and in-person conversations to broaden my understanding and see beyond my own perspective.

This approach has strengthened my coping skills. As someone who easily feels overwhelmed, I have learned to see change as an opportunity for growth. I often remind myself that growth usually requires passing through series of discomfort and coming out stronger. This mindset motivates me and it helps a lot because the more effort I put into embracing digitalization, the more familiar I become with digital spaces, and the more confident I feel navigating these new world changes, the more patience I have for myself in the process.

Through this journey, I have noticed how easy it is for younger people like myself to adapt to change, but also how quickly we can become overwhelmed by information overload and constant dependence on digital platforms. Older people, on the other hand, often find adaptation more difficult, but I admire the grit, discipline, and wisdom they bring to their learning process.

Right now, I think what makes the difference is shared knowledge across both categories. When we offer support not only to our peers but also the older people in our little communities, adapting to an ever-changing world becomes less difficult. It is this willingness to share knowledge together and learn from our pool of resources that makes the transient changes of our time less isolating and far more empowering for everyone, and I hope that we all get to the point where it's easier to adapt than it is difficult.

Younger minds will always cope far easier being more inquiring, oldies progress quietly behind trying to fully understand how it works.

We were brought up on building for fun, not using technology, I think therein lies the difference. Pooling ideas helps everyone.

Honestly, it's really good to adapt to changes and also keep learning. Nowadays, we see that children are really adapting to lot of things and learning things faster than the old people because we are now in an era of technology and so on.

We have to adapt and move on in life, learn and continue, always move forward
