Hello, ladies... it's hard to believe that it's already the end of the year. People are busy talking about their resolutions for next year, as well as looking back on the past year. Remembering everything that has happened over the past year, both good and bad.
.
Speaking of holidays and work, there are things that cannot be left behind even on holidays or special days. Even for moments such as collective leave, there are certain professions that must willingly comply with their contract agreements to continue working and be compensated with overtime pay.
.
.
I experienced this myself around 2012-2013. Do you know the profession of cashier in supermarkets or franchises and the like? They cannot all take holidays; there must be one who has to come in.

.
That's what I did. During that period, I worked as a cashier at one of the largest franchises in Indonesia.
.
During that contract period, I had to work on New Year's Eve, Christmas Day, and even on my own religious holiday, Eid al-Fitr. If you ask me how it felt? Since it was the first time I had to work on a holiday and couldn't even go home to see my family, of course I was very sad. But strangely, my sadness was only brief. Really brief, because I was immediately busy with my work.
.
Actually, I had the option to take time off, but because there was overtime pay for working on holidays, I chose to just work. Besides, I had spent my whole life taking holidays and gathering with my family, so it was no big deal to try a new experience of spending the holidays away from home.
.
Another thing that warmed my heart at that time was that I still felt very helpful to people who needed to buy something on that big day. Seeing groups of families wearing matching clothes that were deliberately chosen for the holiday. Everything was enjoyable. The streets were also quiet. When else would I see the streets of a city as big as Jakarta so empty? Of course, this was a very rare moment, and I could feel it.
I also have very supportive friends at work, so everything felt light and enjoyable.
How about you? Do you also have similar interesting experiences? Thank you for reading my writing. See you in my next writing and experience.

Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.

The incentive for working on holidays is important, as you say, it encourages you more during the holidays, in addition to having that attitude of service to others and friends who support you a lot. Have a nice evening,

We must appreciate the effort of all those workers who are there to serve people on holidays; it is undoubtedly a very important job. It's great that you felt good serving other people while shopping.

Working on public holidays definitely fills us with nostalgia, because we are not with our loved ones, but from a financial point of view, it is all a sacrifice so that we can later enjoy our future family adventures with ease.
At work, there is always someone who brings a familiar essence to the workplace, making things more enjoyable, and as a result, time flies by in the blink of an eye.
Very good anecdote, best regards.
Happy holidays.

I think working the odd holiday wouldn't hurt especially if the manager offered an incentive as long as you don't get too regular about it. Sometimes trade turns with other employees would work. I had pretty good seniority in my unit having good flexibility with my shifts.
