My Pet, My Pride || LOH Contest #78

Hello, Beautiful Ladies of Hive!

This contest has some great topics this time, one of which is my favorite to talk about, Pets.

3 years back, I used to be someone who hated pets. Like if I would see a dog coming from ahead of me I would change my path completely. If I would see a cat looking at me, I would pretend to be on the phone so that the cat believes I'm just not interested. But my husband was after my life to have a pet. I had been procrastinating his request for a long time until one day he told me it was a pet or me (LOL, that didn't happen but whatever happened was similar)

I was really afraid of dogs so I agreed to a cat. And then we had one. And since then, my life, and my thoughts about pets have changed completely.

Pet cats are not like pet dogs. They don't come to you to lick you or play with you. They are like queens. They just order what they want (with their eyes) and go away when they are done with us. You can't hold and love them, they hate it. But then, what is it about this little cat that you still want to have despite all her tantrums?

My cat's name is Noori. She is so adorable that you can't resist her at all. Like all other cat pets, she doesn't like to be touched or played with. She eats, sleeps, and eats again. But still, I feel a connection with her. She gives me warmth. She doesn't like to be touched but she would sleep above my pillow because she loves me and needs love from me, it's her way. She would always be with us in the same room even when she has options. She looks at me like my baby does. Her cute little eyes and her melodious meow, it's one of the best things that have ever happened to me.

Pets are not only for love and fun, they are great teachers I believe. They teach us to love without expectations, to be selfless, and to think about others needs above our own. My cat would not love me back but I still love her like my own kid, that's what she has taught me. I cannot eat my food until she eats, like any other mother-child relationship. I feel responsible for her.

Now that I have a kid who loves playing with her, who sees her as a family too, it feels even more amazing to have a pet. I don't need to worry about having another child, I already have 2 now.

I often tell my husband that when I write my will, she will have her name on it. There will surely be something I would leave for her as we do for our children and loved ones.

Having a pet is bliss, it's a blessing in fact. For us they are family but for them, we are the only ones. So we owe a lot more to them than they do to us (they don't owe anything to us in fact). Love them, care for them, and play with them. Pets are true love 😍

I would like to invite @anggreklestari to participate in the contest. I know she has a cat and would have a beautiful story to share with us.

Awww Noori is so adorable and cute. And I giggled in the part where you said your husband said something like "you or a pet" but I guess he probably knew you will love to have one even if you thought you didn't want any hehe. And now, you love Noori as your family member and that is really amazing❤

Noori is truly one of the most amazing things that ever happened to me. I can proudly say both my kids are too cute, hehe.

Hi @sugandhaseth . I love your kitty and the story of both of you. Thanks for sharing the pictures, they are lovely. be well!🌸

Wow! Thank you for your kind words!

They teach us to love without expectations

As it is, it is pure love, the purest and most sincere.

Yes, pet love is pure because it doesn't involve any kind of expectations or give and take.
