Is Christmas just a time for presents?

Even though I haven't written for quite a long time, Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and I want to share my thoughts about Christmas with you.

Christmas is here and with it comes bright lights, trees, joy, and many other nice things. This time is associated with something special for almost each of us. It is often said that Christmas is the season of gifts.

But in this post, we will find out if Christmas is really just a time for gifts.

The true meaning of Christmas.

Here are the 10 things in my opinion that describe Christmas best.

• Christmas trees. What can be more exciting than the moment when you have to go either to the forest or to the market to choose the most beautiful Christmas tree! Or maybe there will be a place for an (I dont know how to say in English but in Latvia, we call a non-tree) in your home - a tree that doesn't look perfect, but still, embodies the holiday spirit.

• Snow. We all dream of a beautiful, white Christmas. Even when we were little, we could not imagine this holiday without snow. However, whether we will experience a white Christmas in the coming years is quite unpredictable. Like this year from start, we get so much snow but a couple of days before Christmas almost all melted.

• Lamps. It's so nice to see buildings, yards, trees, and even light poles decorated with colorful lights! And they are so diverse - icicles, candlesticks, strings, stars, snowflakes, nets, and many others.

• Holidays. Whether you're a student who doesn't have to go to school or you're working, most of us love Christmas because of the long holiday!

• Hot drinks. They also warm your heart and are a great addition to the winter season. You can choose one of those available in the store - blackcurrant, etc., or make it yourself! And don't forget mulled wine, which is especially popular at this time!

• Decorations. Christmas is also unimaginable without them - self-made snowflakes, Christmas tree bulbs, bright strings, and much more!

• Parties. This season is popular with events big and small, from family gatherings, and co-worker parties, to big carnivals and parties that are not to be missed!

• Funny sweaters. If you don't have a sweater with a deer, a Christmas Santa, or any other Christmas theme at home, hurry up and buy one! This is the only time of the year when such sweaters are completely acceptable and look great.

• Gifts. Of course how without them?! Christmas is a time of gifts. Giving and receiving them makes this holiday more beautiful.

• Food. If you've never experienced that feeling when you've eaten so much at the holiday table that you can't move, but you keep eating anyway because everything is so delicious, you haven't had a real Christmas. Of course, overeating is not a good thing, but how can you stop yourself when there is so much incredibly delicious food on the table?
