      I have experienced that situation, my last boyfriend cheated on me with someone younger.

      I am so sorry you had to go through this level of hurt.

      He said at first that it was my fault because my parents picked on him and made too many jokes at his expense, that we didn't have enough intimacy, that I too made too many jokes, that sometimes I ignored him when we were with friends, and more.

      The nerve! My issue with statements like these is, why didn't you communicate your displeasures. I feel people just look for excuses to justify their bad behavior and wrong decisions. Look at him playing the blame game.
