My favourite half ❤️

Hello, ladies of Hive. I hope you all are doing great. I saw this week's prompt, and the second question caught my attention: “Do you have a favourite family member? If yes, who is it, and what makes your relationship special?”
When I saw this topic, the first person that came to my mind was my sister. However, I love all my family members, and they all hold a dear place in my heart, but I think my sister and I have a special and unique relationship compared to other family members.

I have three siblings, two brothers and one sister. As she is the only sister I have, our relationship is intimate and intentional. Since childhood, we have been so close, and we've grown even closer now. We do things together, wear matching outfits, and have almost the same stature. People often call us twins haha.

My sister is my best friend, therapist, and motivation. She is always there to listen and support me through hard times. She gives me encouragement, motivation, and advice that changes my perspective and helps me see things from a brighter side. She made me a better person; she has always wanted me to grow and win. She introduces me to any resources she finds helpful, be it books, podcasts, courses, ideas, quotes, and so much more. Sometimes we set goals together to encourage ourselves.

I used to doubt and sabotage myself of opportunities because I was scared to fail. But my sister would believe in me, encourage me, and boost my confidence. I remember when I wanted to start my clothing brand. I was sceptical if I would be able to pull it off. I didn’t want to risk my investment. But she casually said something that completely changed me. She said, “Instead of focusing on the bad ‘what ifs,’ focus on the good ones. Think about what you will have to lose if you don’t do it.” Thank God I took her advice. Even though my brand isn’t where it’s supposed to be yet, I’m grateful for how far I’ve come.

Now, let’s skip to the fun part! My sister is a boredom killer and my mood enhancer. There is no sad moment with her. She brightens my day and smoothens my night. Each time she is around, I enjoy every second. We have endless conversations, and sometimes my mum will ask why we always have something to chat about. But we don’t need a reason to enjoy each other’s company.

This is my entry for loh #221I can’t imagine a world without her. I thank God every day for having her in my life. It is a privilege I will never take for granted. Sisters are truly a blessing to this world. And to my world's best sister @lizizoo, I love you ❤️
