I think the holiday season has a way of making the atmosphere feel lighter. There are not many hectic busy schedules that make me feel overwhelmed like the other days, and so, remembering the simple things that matter becomes so easy to do.
There are many things about the season that I do enjoy. You will agree with me that the Christmas weather is usually different and unique; the breeze, the jingle bells, and the vibes here and there have a way of calming my nerves and giving me unusual happiness, but my favorite of them all is the quality bonding and connections I do have with my family and friends.
You know, during this season, there is no rush hour for me, no school runs, no homework to help my boys catch up with, no overload of projects here and there, and no short sleep, but a lengthy and relaxing kind of sleep without any alarm to interrupt my life. It just feels like life is on pause, and I can breathe well and be alright.
This gives me more room to really bond with my family with a variety of activities and the learning phase being activated. I don't usually have a lot of time to put my boys through, but this season we are at home, which makes it easier for us to learn more together , and by so doing, we keep bonding stronger and better.
Our family time gets funnier and more interesting. We crack jokes, read storybooks, study the scriptures, and go for family day out. It's just a lot we observe during the holiday season, and I love that.
Connecting with my friends is easier this season as well, because most of them working have more time to have fun and unwind. My family and my friends are important figures in my life, and what is life without them? I am always waiting for a time like this to be with them, and so far, the fun has kicked off since last Sunday. It's been fun upon fun, outing upon outing, learning new things alongside. It's a win-win.
It feels like the holiday season shouldn't end any time soon, hehehe.
