Traditional marriage in my country

Happy new year to this great community ladies of Hive I greet each an everyone of us here.
Am happy to be a part of this week contest and am happy with the topic.

2️⃣ What is the most important thing that you are seeking to attain in 2025?

Here I will be talking about marriage.
What is marriage?
Marriage is a coming together of two adults that has a decision of becoming husband and wife.

Marriage is a good thing and marriage is not originated now it has been their for edges but different culture and the way they do their own marriage.
Here in my country we value traditional marriage so much than white wedding.
In traditional marriage here in Nigeria the husband will buy so many things that he will present to the elders of the village both men and women before the husband will buy those things he will first collect the list of things to buy and after buying the things the elders will be happy and now give there daughter hand in marriage.

We believe that once a man suffer and buy those things that the man will not play with the wife or joke with the wife in the other hand the wife will respect the husband because is not an easy thing for a man to buy those things all in the name of marriage.
That is why here we value a married people and accord them maximum respect.
And doing the time the elders will come
together for the marriage right the father of bride will now take bride price and the mother will also take her own bride price but In some families they believe collecting bride price is selling their daughter off to man.

But to me I think that marriage should be something free or what the man has he should give to the in-laws because some marriage suffer after doing the traditional marriage all that they got has been taken away from them by the village people.

Here is when I did my traditional marriage and dressing in my native wears.

I love this traditional marriage because is your day and people come in your father compound to celebrate you because is not an easy thing to be married and people we merry on your behalf dance at celebrate with you.
