What Makes Me Smile During a Bad Day?🤔 Loh#209

in Ladies of Hive14 days ago (edited)

Bad days come unexpectedly and unaware for me- I think it does to everyone. But we can smile and maintain positive energy during the bad day that makes us different.

I remember once when I was at work and got a call from my mentor that he had just lost his wife to death just after childbirth delivery; thankfully, the child was still alive. That was a bad day for me- the one that touched me the most because the deceased was very close to our family, coupled with the fact that she stayed with us a few days before she left for delivery.

I didn't know what to do but I somehow managed to smile at the end of the day after crying my eyes out. So here are the things that make me smile during a bad day.

Usually, on a bad day, I do like to be alone because I wouldn't want my attitude to affect another to not transfer bad energy or to avoid more "wahala or one chance" as some of my country people will say.

The first thing I do after isolating myself is to listen to music. Yes, music is a therapy for me. I do feel sometimes that music understands me better because the songs I listen to always seem to encourage me and get me out of my bad mood. The lyrics alone bring peace of mind and assurance. Most times, a friend of mine will just start singing for me, and I will just start smiling. Some of these people just know my mumu button. 😁

If music doesn't work out, then I will just pour out and express myself in writing. I write down how I feel, I see my jotter as a person who wouldn't use my words against me. So I share what I go through during the day with my journal. Funny enough, after writing, I will just burst out laughing and say to myself are you for real?? Like you have a mind to write all these things down oo😂

If that doesn't help, I will just force myself and sleep. I will sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and letting bygones be bygones. Most times, when I sleep and wake, my younger brother will be like, "Wetin' happened today? Wey you sleep for afternoon?". The boy can read me so well.

Don't take me out during a bad day; I will just spoil your day for you, including mine.🤣 So I prefer to be in isolation and come out afterward.

So that's it Music, Writing, and sleeping.😊

Thank you for reading.
