1️⃣ Marriage is a universal tradition, yet its celebration reflects the unique values, customs, and traditions of each culture. What are the most significant traditions, customs, and practices that define wedding ceremonies in your culture? How do they embody your community's heritage and beliefs?

2️⃣ What is the most important thing that you are seeking to attain in 2025?
Marriage is a very sacred relationship and very truly said, it's a celebration for life where 2 people come together under one roof and start sharing every moment of life together, then be it happy or sad times. Every relationship of life is important but the relationship of marriage is one which is a soulful relationship. We do not have choice of choosing our parents, children or siblings, they are all biological. But our partner we have no biological connection, it's a soul to soul connection that brings 2 people together.
In my culture a relationship of marriage does not demand much. When we get married, like any other culture we exchange vows, the priest does the ceremony and unites the couple in the relationship. After that it's all about individual moral values that takes the relationship ahead and goes on for life time. In our culture there is one custom that we follow in this relationship and that is the woman starts wearing a red bangle after marriage, and yes the wedding band is also there for both the partners. The red color signifies auspiciousness, prosperity, and happiness and a good luck charm for the lady. Sadly if the husband dies then the girl has to stop wearing the red bangle.
Though the new generation not everyone follows this tradition and not every girl wears the red bangle after marriage. It's not hard and fast rule but it's considered auspicious, anyways the new generation has their own thought process and arguments over everything, so there is no point trying to prove these traditions to them. It's like each one to their own. For me, it's very important personally to follow this tradition, since the time I have been married I have been wearing the red bangle, there are only very few times, when I have removed the bangle for some occasion to replace with another jewelry. For me and hubby both the wedding band is always on, we never remove that.
I do know that these are all beliefs of our mind, but yet I do like to follow these traditions and keep it going.
For the second question; What is the most important thing that you are seeking to attain in 2025? This year as I mentioned in the previous week contest entry also, I have absolutely nothing to attain. I just want to surrender to life and keep flowing in it with whatever it brings to me. All I want is peace and balance in life and let life happen by itself. Too many years I have been chasing something or the other, this year I want a break. I will like to travel but if it does not happen, I am fine with that also. There are somethings on my mind but there is no push to it, whatever comes through is good and if it does not then I am happy with that as well.

The wedding bands and bangles. Hmmmm. I assume you are talking about Indian culture. Am I right?
It's good to follow traditions if you are comfortable with them and the traditions are not creating burdens on people. For instance, the tradition of dowry is burdensome in many cases, so that's something to be reconsidered.

Yes, the Indian culture. I find these traditions very beautiful and meaningful also.
The answer to the second question is spot on. Such kind of attitude makes for a better life experience than one where we have all these expectations to achieve, moving helter and skelter like a lost bee!
The new generation definitely have a mind of their own, and sadly, some of our thoughts are very divorced from reality.
I feel that while we move ahead towards the modern society we still need to stay connected with our roots. These old traditions are not made to bind us in any way, each one of them has strong significance to it, but now very few people try to understand the significance of these traditions.
Exactly so. I think the spirit of these old traditions that were based on deep knowledge or universal principles will gradually be lost in our modern age. Which is sad because people now will feel the missing bit that may not know how to fill up.
Here in Pakistan married women also bangles but yes as we don't follow the tradition mostly as i see nowadays women leave to wear bangles.....
That's what is happening in many parts. It is a choice to follow or not to follow
but marriages are failing rapidly in indian society of late; wat could be the reason?
Personally I feel that as individuals are getting financially independent their tolerance levels are getting lesser and they do not feel need of partners. Also the heavy influence of social media and the western world are changing the core values of the younger generations.
