What do you enjoy most during the holidays and why?
The last month of the year is a month that brings a lot of enthusiasm for doing things, family gatherings, although this has changed a lot with families scattered around the world.
Everyone, from wherever they are at the end of this month and year, starts to finalize what they're going to do during these holidays: whether to travel, stay home, get together with friends and family, and so on.
Since everything has changed so much, I try to keep my holiday traditions the same, although from a financial point of view, this year the country's economy has been very tough, which of course affects everyone. I like to decorate my house, not as much as before, but I still have that enthusiasm for using decorations I already have. Every year my tradition was to buy something new to add to my Christmas decorations. Although I'm remembering that I bought an LED candle for an event and added it as one of the new touches to my decorations. I always start by checking what I have, and as the day's creativity flows, I add the decorations. My nativity scene is something I change every year, how I organize it; this year was very different. I didn't use flowers, which I always placed in different spots.
Another activity I enjoy is making sweets, not typical for this time of year, but I do make flan, cake, whatever comes to mind at the moment, like chocolate or orange. This activity might change a bit this year. I also enjoy making the food we'll share, even if it's not the typical hallaca like in Venezuela. In different years, we've made other kinds of food to give thanks for everything we've accomplished in this year that's coming to an end.
I enjoy getting ready because joy belongs to everyone, and this is something we shouldn't miss, even if it's just my husband and me. Perhaps this year some of this will change, or we'll change the location for our gathering.
I like doing these things because it's a part of each of us, and it allows us to celebrate our achievements, what we've done, what we feel we've accomplished and overcome, what we've learned and understood. Despite family losses, we understand and continue processing this path that is meant for each of us when God decides, to feel it, to honor those people, to keep living and recreating small moments that remain in our memories.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta disfrutar durante las fiestas y por qué?
El último mes del año, un mes que trae muchas ganas de hacer cosas, reuniones familiares aunque ya esto ha cambiado mucho con el tema de las familias repartidas por el mundo.
Cada quien desde donde está finalizando este mes y año comienza a afinar lo que va a realizar en estas fechas, si va a viajar, quedarse en casa, reuniones con amigos y familiares, entre otras.
Como todo ha cambiado mucho, intento que mis gustos en estas fechas se mantengan, aunque desde el punto de vista financiero este año se ha presentado muy fuerte la economía del país que por supuesto afecta a todos. Me gusta adornar mi casa, ya no como antes, pero si mantengo ese entusiasmo de utilizar adornos que ya tengo, cada año mi tradición era comprar algo nuevo para ir agregando a mis detalles navideños. Aunque estoy recordando que compré una vela de luz led para una actividad y lo sumé como parte de esos detalles nuevos en mis adornos. Siempre comienzo revisando lo que tengo, a así como vaya surgiendo la creatividad del día voy colocando los adornos, mi pesebre es algo que cambio cada año como lo organizo, este año fue muy diferente. No usé flores, que siempre colocaba en diferentes espacios flores navideñas.
Otra actividad que disfruto es hacer dulces, no típicos de estas fechas, pero sí quesillo, torta la que se me ocurra en el momento, como la de chocolate o naranja, esta actividad quizás cambie un poco este año, disfruto también hacer la comida que se va a compartir igualmente aunque no sea la típica hallaca como es el caso Venezuela, en diferentes años se ha hecho otro tipo de comida, para hacer el debido agradecimiento de todo lo logrado en este año que va finalizando.
Disfruto el arreglo personal porque la alegría es de cada uno y esto es algo que no debemos dejar pasar, así estemos solo mi esposo y yo. Quizás este año cambie algo de esto o cambiamos de locación para el compartir.
Me gusta hacer estas cosas porque es parte de cada uno y engrandecer nuestros logros lo que hemos hecho, lo que sentimos que hemos logrado y superado, lo aprendido y comprendido, a pesar de perdidas familiares entender y seguir procesando ese camino que es para cada uno cuando Dios lo decida, sentirlo, honrar a esas personas, seguir viviendo y recreando pequeños momentos que quedan en nuestra memoria.
