[ENG-ESP] 💕✨ LOH Contest #267: The Christmas Season and its Charm 🎄🎅🏻

Hello hello beautiful women of this community ✨💕, Christmas has finally arrived and preparations for the season are underway. It is a time of year that is considered by many to be their favourite, myself included, and one that has so many different meanings and representations for everyone that it is sometimes difficult to discover what it means to you personally. So, with this in mind, one of the questions in this week's edition made me wonder what I really enjoy about this time of year, and with that in mind, today I'm going to tell you a little bit about it 🎄.

The Christmas holidays have always had a special meaning for me, which is why people consider me a Christmas fanatic 🤣, and not only because of what they traditionally represent, but also because of the unique opportunity they offer to reconnect with those I love most. At this time of year, it seems that distances are shortened and that, no matter how far away each member of the family is, everyone makes a sincere effort to get together again. Nowadays, this happens very often due to migration, but I remember that when I was little, my father's family did the same thing. We didn't have countries separating us, but we did have states and cities, and yet at Christmas we were still together. That gesture of finding a moment to share together becomes, in itself, a giant gift and turns Christmas into a space to rebuild bonds, relive memories and create new ones.

And when it comes to gifts, another aspect I deeply enjoy about the festive season is the beautiful act of giving. Beyond the material aspect, giving a gift involves an intimate process that is extremely meaningful to me, as it involves listening to the other person, remembering their tastes, observing what makes them happy and dedicating time (and obviously money) to finding something that has special meaning. A carefully chosen gift communicates affection, attention, and dedication. That's why every Christmas exchange becomes a way of saying ‘I know you’ and ‘I care about you,’ something that, in my opinion, strengthens any relationship 💖.

Food, of course, plays a central role in my enjoyment of Christmas, because it couldn't be any other way 🤣. Venezuelan cuisine has a special charm during this time of year. We eagerly await the arrival of hallacas, pan de jamón, ensalada de gallina and so many other dishes that have become family favourites. And, taking advantage of the opportunity, I haven't even eaten my first hallaca yet 🤣. However, the best part is not just tasting them, but preparing them together, as this turns the kitchen into a meeting place: people chat, laugh, share stories and pass on traditions between generations.

And so, this is how Christmas unfolds and transforms the entire city. Although it is true that this time of year can bring about a frenzy and general chaos, it also brings with it an atmosphere of collective joy. The decorations and lights that adorn the illuminated streets generate a feeling of renewal and hope that spreads to everyone.

Buenas buenas hermosas mujeres de ésta comunidad ✨, la Navidad al fin llegó y empiezan los preparativos propios de la fecha, una época que de hecho es considerada como la favorita de muchos, me incluyo allí, y que tiene tantos significados y representaciones diferentes para todos que a veces cuesta descubrir cuál es el propio, así que pensando en ésto una de las preguntas de la edición de ésta semana me hizo cuestionarme qué es lo que realmente disfruto de ésta época, y con eso en mente es que hoy les cuento un poco sobre eso 🎄.

Las fiestas navideñas siempre han tenido un significado especial para mí, por algo me consideran la loca de la navidad 🤣, y no solo por lo que representan tradicionalmente, sino por la oportunidad única que ofrecen para reconectar con quienes más quiero. En esta época, pareciera que las distancias se acortan y que, sin importar cuán lejos se encuentre cada integrante de la familia, todos hacen un esfuerzo sincero por reencontrarse, actualmente pasa con mucha frecuencia debido a la migración, pero recuerdo que cuando era pequeña en mi familia paterna igualmente se hacía, no teníamos países de por medio que nos separasen, pero sí estados y ciudades, y aún así en Navidad estábamos juntos. Ese gesto de buscar un momento para compartir juntos se convierte, por sí mismo, en un regalo gigante y convierte a la Navidad en un espacio para reconstruir lazos, revivir recuerdos y crear nuevas memorias.

Y si de regalos se trata, otro aspecto que disfruto profundamente de estas festividades es el hermoso acto de regalar. Más allá de lo material, dar un obsequio implica un proceso íntimo que para mí es sumamente significativo, pues se trata de escuchar a la otra persona, recordar sus gustos, observar qué la hace feliz y dedicar tiempo (y obviamente dinero) para encontrar algo que tenga un significado especial. Un regalo cuidadosamente elegido comunica afecto, atención y dedicación. Por eso, cada intercambio navideño se transforma en una manera de decir “te conozco” y “me importas”, algo que a mi punto de vista, fortalece cualquier relación 💖.

La comida, por supuesto, ocupa un lugar central en mi disfrute navideño, porque no puede ser de otra manera 🤣. La gastronomía venezolana tiene un encanto particular durante esta época del año, esperamos con emoción la llegada de las hallacas, el pan de jamón, la ensalada de gallina y tantos otros platos que se han convertido en emblemas familiares, y que aprovechando la oportunidad, yo aún no me he comido ni la primera hallaca 🤣. Sin embargo, lo más bonito no es solo degustarlos, sino prepararlos juntos, pues ésto convierte a la cocina en un punto de encuentro: se conversa, se ríe, se comparten historias y se transmite tradición entre generaciones.

Y así, es como también la navidad se despliega y transforma toda la ciudad, aunque es cierto que esta época puede despertar un frenesí y descontrol general, también trae consigo una atmósfera de alegría colectiva, las decoraciones y luces que adornan las calles iluminadas generan una sensación de renovación y esperanza que contagia a todos.
