Death is an unusual topic of conversation, but remembering death makes us appreciate life. If this were your last birthday, how would you like to celebrate it and why?
This is this week's LOH contest I've decided to write on.
Like I stated in my life mantra I have decided to live and not just exist.
But what do I mean by that?
For so long, I figured I wasn't living life to the fullest, I'd spent a lot of time envisioning a possible future that may never occur or imagining something different had happened in the past — basically I spent little to no time in the present.
After having some experiences that had me see my life flash before my eyes I realised I wasn't being very intentional with my life and that had to change.
I chose this topic because it is something I resonate with. I try to live every day like it was my last. But if I was told that I was having my last birthday this is how I would spend it:
Family
Family is everything! A lot of times we tend to neglect this fact but it is very important. Celebrating with my family is definitely top of the list of things I'd want.
In the times when life has pushed me to the wall and there's nowhere else to turn to, my family have been there to provide the emotional and physical support that helped me pull through.
I'm ever grateful to the family I have and would love to spend my last birthday with them.
Friends
There are a handful of friends that no longer qualify as friends but as family.
I would love to have my friends around on that day as well.
I have quite a wonderful set of friends and it wouldn't hurt to spend my last birthday celebration with them.
Lover
Love is a beautiful thing, it is something that can make you forget your sorrows. Love is forgiving and comforting... I mean I could go on and on.
I would love to spend the last hours of the birthday with the love of my life; if I've got one 😉
For some reason, I've always thought I'd prefer to die before my partner as I don't know if I'd be able to cope with the hurt of losing a partner. Thinking about it now, It feels kinda sad knowing my lover is aware we would be celebrating my last birthday together.
Anyways, I'll still love to spend those last hours of my day with my lover.
Miscellaneous
Birthday celebrations usually just span for 24 hours, but if I'd have the time, I would so love to empty my bank account and travel around.
Visit places and do a lot as many fun things.
Well, there you have it!
Not so much one can do within 24 hours. That is why I take in on myself to live to the fullest every day of the week.
The truth is no one is promised tomorrow, we all just assume it will be there.
Stay happy and live intentionally every day like it was your last!

Hahaha! Nice one! Honestly I wouldn't regret a thing on the contrary I'll be extremely glad for the increased lifeline. As long as there's life, there's always hope. I can always strive to make the money back.

Indeed, 24 hours is so short :)
We should celebrate our birthdays for several days, so travel can be included too. Family, friends, love... you mention very important people in our lives, for sure you would make a good choice to spend your last birthday with them :)
