RE: The Illusion of Self | Who We Were, Who We Will Be

Our body is really amazing. I didn't know that skin cells regenerate about once a month, nor did I know that the liver regenerates itself within a few years. Thanks to your post, I know better now.

As each day passes, we lose our old selves. Year after year, we lose connection with our old selves, and the only things that remain are the memories. I remember my childhood days, when Christmas celebrations were the best periods we looked forward to; kids ran around the house barefooted while their mothers were in the kitchen preparing dishes. Now that I've grown older, things aren't what they used to be, but the memories still live on.

Our memories connect us to our past selves and shape our understanding of who we are. Change and growth are inherent parts of life, and the faster we embrace them, the better. Life is a journey of change and growth. I'm not the person I was five years ago, and neither are you.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and memories. It's pretty cool how the way our bodies reset themselves is kind of like the cycles of life. Those vivid childhood memories of Christmas celebrations really show how much our past influences who we are. Even as life shifts and we get older, those memories stick around, connecting us to who we used to be. Unless we forget things because of diseases or amnesia.

Change and growth are just part of life. Letting go of the past can be challenging, but there's definitely something nice about welcoming the new experiences. Yes, we’ve all changed a lot over the past five years, and that’s what life’s all about, growing, learning, and figuring out what matters at each point in our journey.
