I am a lot older 😅 But I was in the same spot when I was at your age. What the older ones must learn is to let the younger ones find their own path, one that may be different than the one we took. Different times. Different issues and different goals.
It may be difficult to talk about politics, even within your family, if you have opposing views. When communication isn't working anymore, I just leave it to fate, lol. And avoid further political discussions with the person.
