Hi everyone.
Welcome to my Blog.
I am pleased to participate in this week’s prompt. For this week I will be sharing my most Memorable kitchen mishap story.

This is one memory that keeps lingering in my head. Each time I sit down to think about how the whole thing happened, it makes me always be extra careful so as to avoid such occurrences again. Once I saw this topic the first thing that came to my mind was this. This particular story makes me sad and happy. Sad that it actually happened, happy because despite the tragedy that happened that day no life was lost.

One of the days while in the kitchen preparing things so we can fry yam and make sauce which was what we used to sell then. After everything my mum put the frying pan on the gas cooker and poured in the oil. While waiting for the oil to get heated she did not notice that the frying pot was not well placed on the gas cooker. She started putting the yam into the fire in the process of bringing out the yam from the oil. You can imagine how hot the oil could have been. The whole pot of oil poured on my mum. Thank God I was around. I had to hurriedly call for help and people came in with different ideas of things to apply on her leg.

I was there crying and thinking the hot oil would disfigure my mother’s leg. People kept applying things on her leg to prevent it from boils coming from the hot oil. That was how we stopped frying yam that day and could not sell that day. All throughout the night I could not sleep because I had to stay awake and take care of my mum. The happy part is that the accident never disfigured her leg like I was thinking in my head.

Since that day I observe my kitchen very well before I use anything in it. Before I cook, I make sure I check if the pots are well placed, I check my gas if it's well fixed to avoid explosion or I check to avoid anything that could cause a kitchen accident.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog.

Some things happen for us to learn and better at handling situations, sorry about your mum but I'm glad you learnt from the experience.
Thanks for sharing with us.

Definitely. Thank you so much.

That's why it always pays for everyone to learn first aide skills that applies common sense actions. I'm glad that the injuries wasn't as serious as thought.
