New Year's eve traditions / Costumbres de fin de año - LOH contest week #269

I think @abelarte already beat me to it in describing all the New Year's traditions and customs in my country. So, if @cautiva-30 allows me, I'll tell you which ones I like best.

Of course, what I enjoy most is waiting for midnight with my family. At that moment, we all go outside with our buckets of water to throw them in the street.

It's at that moment that we start wishing all the neighbors a happy New Year, who are also out celebrating with their own traditions. There we greeted the person who came out to throw the bucket of water, the woman walking around the block with her suitcase, and those carrying the New Year's Eve effigy to burn it on the corner.

We like to make a toast and go out to greet and congratulate our neighbors.

They were the ones who were by our side throughout the year, through thick and thin.

Therefore, they are also part of that family we chose to accompany us in our lives.

I understand burning the effigy, but I don't like it. I'm afraid someone might get burned, that an accident might happen.

However, I would like to do the suitcase trip. Now that my children are older, I think a trip would be a good change for our lives.

Hola, amigas mías.

Creo que ya @abelarte se me adelantó al describir todas las tradiciones y costumbres de fin de año en mi país. De modo que, si @cautiva-30 me lo permite, les diré cuáles me gustan más.

Por supuesto que lo que más disfruta es esperar a las 12 de la noche junto a la familia. En ese instante salimos todos con nuestros cubos de agua para lanzarlos a la calle.
Es en ese momento cuando comenzamos a felicitar a todos los vecinos que salen también a esperar el año nuevo con sus costumbres.
Ahí saludamos al que salió a lanzar el cubo de agua, la que está con la maleta caminando para darle la vuelta a la manzana y a los que van cargando el muñeco del fin de año, para quemarlo en la esquina.

A nosotros nos gusta realizar el brindis y salir a saludar y a felicitar a nuestros vecinos cercanos.
Ellos fueron los que estuvieron a nuestro lado durante todo el año en las buenas y en las malas.
Por tanto, ellos también forman parte de esa familia que elegimos para que nos acompañen en nuestra vida.
La quema del muñeco la entiendo, pero no me gusta. Me da miedo que alguien pueda quemarse, que se provoque un accidente.

Sin embargo, sí me gustaría realizar la de la maleta. Ahora que mis hijos están grandes, creo que un viaje sería un buen cambio para nuestra vida.
