For quite some time, I've been completely enamored with a certain man.
Ever since I first met him, I was mystified, a little bit scared, somewhat intimidated, but mostly in awe.
I heard of him at the same time we all did. For reasons we didn't understand, he had locked himself up behind his walls, becoming a recluse? madman? genius? I think I assumed it was all of the above. The thought of it made my neurons fire like pistons. And that's when I realized,
Deciding to appear for a short time, he invited us all for a taste of his world. If we were lucky, we could meet the man behind the mystery. But how? Luck? Chance? Destiny? I knew it would be a sprinkling of the three. The dream of it made my adrenaline flow fiercely through my veins. And that's when I discovered,
The first time I saw his eyes, I sensed a hint of madness ...true. But his icy-blue stare was so focused? so penetrating? so inviting! I was completely swept into the intensity of his gaze. Pheromones radiated off me in waves. And that's when I admitted,
With an unchallenged ability to hold us captive, he did so with such ease. It was absolutely alluring. He held power and wealth but did it in such an unassuming fashion. They were his toys? His means? His tools? I suspected he wielded them in any way he chose. It made my pupils pop with possibility. And that's when I confessed,
He could weave words masterfully; his intelligence and ingenuity were off the charts. The way he teased with statements-turned-puzzles? clues? invitations? I had never before been so mentally aroused - my synapses were being selectively seduced and expertly enticed. And that's when I professed.
In business, he was ruthless. He picked his adversaries off one by one, quite literally. In order to protect his passion, he would only be satisfied by eliminating those less worthy. To which qualities would he entrust his empire? In the end, he chose innocence, hope, and purity. In awe, I analyzed how one so cutthroat could also be compassionate. And that's when I conceded,
Of course, I couldn't ever truly be with him. He was no more real than the golden tickets, Oompa Loompas and the fizzy lifting drink that were imagined and penned by Roald Dahl in 1964, when he brought Willie Wonka to life. But his presence has always haunted me, far beyond the pages of a book. Sometimes, I catch traces of him and smile? shiver? salivate? Mmmmmmmm, all three and more. Happily married for a while now - but in another life, I certainly would meet, greet, and marry Willie Wonka and live happily ever after.
Before I go, I'll encourage you all to hold onto those child-like qualities that keep you anticipating, wishing, and most of all - drEEming. I'll also leave you with some delicious words from my Wonka-man himself, as he was searching for his perfect protégé.
“Mind you, there are thousands of clever men who would give anything for the chance to come in and take over from me, but I don't want that sort of person. I don't want a grown-up person at all. A grown-up won't listen to me; he won't learn. He will try to do things his own way and not mine. So I have to have a child.” - Willy Wonka, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, written by Roald Dahl.
This post was an entry for the Ladies of Hive challenge this week where we were to answer one of two questions. I chose "Which fictional character would you like to meet, and why". Hope you enjoyed it. There's still time if you'd like to enter! Ladies of Hive contest #53 I'll invite @patjules83 into the LOH community! Come join us Pat 😘
You wrote the beginning of the post with such determination, emotion and overwhelming force that I really thought your current husband or partner has the previously mentioned qualities. Until I have read the quoted line above.
Having a relationship with such a person is indeed a dreem-like. 🙂
hehehehehe yesssssss :)
It was meant to lure you in! hahahahaa I'm glad it did!!!
Have you ever read the book? It's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl
but the movie that I'm speaking of is the adaptation of his story to film. They did another version of it - a remake a few years ago - but it was not very good. not at all. hahahahaha
the original from 1971 (i think 71) was really so wonderful!!! The man who played that character is the one that I fell in love with as a girl hehehehe
I was born in 1976 and I watched that movie over and over and over again! hahahaha. The character was Willie Wonka
When they made the movie in the 70s - they changed the title to WILLIE WONKA and the Chocolate Factory. so if you look for it - that's the one to see hehehehehe
thanks for coming to see me @xplosive! I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday??? and that its a great start to your week! :)
hehehe this is Willie Wonka... the one that I love :)
I probably watched the movie. At least it sounds familiar.
But I probably have not read the book so far.
hehehe but the movie was NOT as good as the old :)
if you get a chance watch the old one hehehehe
😊
Hahaaaaa,
That's pidgin for
I love your play with words, the way you flow, very articulate and slowing sucking me in. I love the way you ended each paragraph. The wonka-man really did something to you.
How beautifully weird of you to feel that way for someone who's as real as someone's bewildered imagination. But I could see why now, he was a master at his own game.
Goodluck in the contest!
hahahahaha thank you!!!!
i love this complimentary comment!! 😍
yes - i used to watch this movie over and over again!!!
but who did I really love?!?!?!
the fictional character? (Willie Wonka)
the actor who portrayed him? (Gene Wilder)
or the author of the book who created him? (Roald Dahl)
hahahahahahaha
i think it was the foundation of Roald -but Wilder brought him to life! heheheheh so the winner is Gene Wilder LOLOLOL
i love this complimentary comment!! 😍
You're welcome
I know ladies like compliments so I might as well use a few cards 😂.
You made a great choice though, He must have done justice to what Wilder had drafted. He brought out the picture and portrayed it well.
That's the magic of being one with the character. 🥰🥰
This is so creative ma'am. And one of these days I will steal the concept... Watch out... Hehehehe
You have an amazing fictional character, and I am impressed by all his qualities.
Maybe, in the next life, you will have the honor of holding your Wonka-man and never letting him go, who knows?
I wish you luck in the contest, I can see you winning this though 😊
hehehehehe yes - he was truly a great character!
the actor (Gene Wilder) who played him in the original movie was a master actor! hehehe He played Willie Wonka as insane, (which he was hahaha) but also eccentric and nuanced and charismatic and clever and brilliant and inventive and funny and mysterious and protective... (and more)
they did a revision of it a few years ago with Johnny Depp playing the character - and - i love Johnny Depp! hahaha but...... he RUINED the movie hahahaha
He took out every other personality trait and overshadowed it with the insanity and made him just seem schizophrenic hahahahahaha
👇If you ever get to see it... see the original below. heheh
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067992/
I am going to have to watch Willie Wonka again and I know I will see him differently :D
And you, are just a great storyteller as Roald Dahl
Got me guessing like, who who whoooooooo
Thank you for sharing @dreemsteem <33
hahahaha ok but make sure its the original with Gene Wilder! hahaha
i love Johnny Depp but he ruined that movie LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
love you my friend!
No wonder you said I'll never guess who your fictional character is —Willy Wonka! I did not see that coming.
Hmmm...enigmatic, influential, adventurous, attractive, celebral...seems like my kind of man! 😂
hehehehe and did you see the picture of the chessboard???
he must be like Connor hahahahahahha
but if you watch it as a movie - you HAVE to watch the original. not the crappy one with Johnny Depp! hahaha
Johnny has to stick to pirates :)
Quite a perfect imperfection.
A man could have everything you want but just one odd factor will make you to let go of the love.
Guess that no man is perfect but we can always find someone we can tolerate their negative side.
In any case we lack tolerance for anyone, letting go is the best option.
Quite an interesting fiction you have here, i stayed glued trying to imagine every word.
hehehe thank you - Willie Wonka was very much a strange fictional character from that book - but he's the one I would choose to meet for the challenge hehehehe
thanks for coming to visit :)
What a great entry!
Amazing!
I like the way Gene Wilder played his role!
WASN'T HE THE BEST?!?!?!?
oh i loved him!!!
My dad said I used to watch that movie over and over and over haahh
Wow... your statement just brought back memories of my Dad!
hehehehe today is just the day for nostalgia i think! hehehe
It does not help that it is raining so heavily and the winds are so strong!
I'm feeling really nostalgic! hehehe😝🤣🙁
Very interesting.......your post has gotten me to thinking that we do rely much too much on our adult selves and not enough on the child inside. Sometimes, when I get that sense of longing for something magical, I realize I am needing to see things through my inner child's eyes!
Make you wonder if Dahl was pulling from a sense of himself or someone he knew. Interesting.....Thanks for sharing!
hehehe yeah - his books are always very interesting!!! He wrote James and the Giant Peach and also Fantastic Mr. Fox too! He has a very unique perspective that seems to hang onto that child-like humor with an adult bite at times hehehe
thank you for coming to visit :)
😎👍🤗
The Charlie character is like a mystery to me when I first watched the movie but then later I read the book it and I said to myself Charlie is hell of a character. Mysterious yet intriguing. I am not surprised Charlie is the character you would like to meet.
Hehehe I love how you expressed his characters with words. It's creative and mind-blowing. As I was reading it, I was who is our Tiger talking about? 🤔 Hahah I have to read to the end. 😂.
I love your entry and it was amazing. Good luck in the contest ma'am 🤗
no no no - not Charlie. hhahaa
Willie is my choice :)
Willie Wonka :) but Johnny Depp played him very oddly - like a psychotic hahahaha
i like the ORIGINAL one
this one here :)
You received 5 LADY(LOH) tokens for entering the Ladies of Hive contest.
Please note that since our LOH token is still so new, that it will be worth more if we HOLD them for a bit before trying to sell them. Some have been trying to sell them immediately after receiving them, but holding them for a bit will help them to increase in value! We are working behind-the-scenes to try to keep the price stable, but the "sell orders" are hampering the stabilization of the price of this new token. Please hold on to your tokens. Thank you! 🙂
thank you @silversaver888 !!! and @hive-124452 :)
lol when I first started reading, I thought it was about either a real celebrity, or possibly your husband 😂
Willy Wonka was a great story :) The end never quite made sense but it was fun!
Did I mention, try less snow?
