WITHOUT MOM

One thing is having a mom, and another is having one who cares, loves you and guide you through life journey. As a lady, you’ll be able to face life challenges if your mentor and friend is your mom.

I once had a Mom and forever will even though she’s not here with me anymore but will forever remain in my heart.
There is no greater pain than loosing your mom. There’s this empty space that will forever remain in you.

This is my Introductory post as well, forgive me for coming in like this. I needed a place to write and pour out my heart and I found @ladies of hive. My name is Courage Okocha. My nickname is Berrycee.

I recently travelled home after 7months away. I got home and for the first time in my life, it didn’t feel like home anymore. It was quiet and everything seem off. Then i realized how important a Mother can be. It’s just 1 year since i lost my mom but it feels like she has travelled long enough to not have returned.

Normally, anytime I come back from school or holiday, she’s always home. She will always call to check up on me. She would call to ask what I would like to eat when I get home and that’s what she will prepare. But for the very first time after a long time away from home, no one called me to ask what I would eat, no one welcomed me. I felt empty and very sad.

The deep scar of loosing her felt fresh again but then I told myself that I wasn’t going to cry. The laughter that filled the house has suddenly become a quiet place. The sweet lovely memories became fresh again. But then I had to be strong because she would never want to see me sad.

One thing I’m happy about is meeting you and being your daughter. I will forever love you mom.
