Let’s Get Our Regular Gynecological Checkups / 婦人科の定期検診を受けよう！

Last month, I received a message from my health insurance company reminding me about a cervical cancer screening. I decided to go and have it done, together with my regular gynecological check-up 💪

It’s the same clinic that has taken care of me for many years, including during pregnancy and after my daughter's birth. Communication with the doctor is in German, but she always explains things kindly and clearly, so I can handle it. In the beginning, my partner used to come with me, but after more than ten years in Germany, I do by myself 😊

I must wait for the test results, but the doctor didn’t point out any problems, so I’m sure everything is fine. There was also nothing in particular I need to do right now to prepare for menopause.

What surprised me most was that my last visit was in 2021 ....... four years ago. At that point, the doctor firmly reminded me “Make sure you come once a year for your regular check-up.” I set an alert to take appointment in November 2026.

So, to all the women reading this: let’s not leave too much time between our gynecological check-ups, like I did. Regular screenings really matter.
