Les deseo feliz día del espíritu de la navidad que ha sido ayer día 21 de diciembre, y justo con motivo de esto es que les comparto este post contándoles sobre una hermosa tradición que tenemos en mi familia materna aunque yo la dejé de hacer hace tiempo pero que este año por alguna razón la he recordado y he querido volverla a retomar.
Y es que en este día en particular se celebra que entra el espíritu navideño a las casas y eso según he visto es algo que tiene que ver mucho con el cambio, las buenas energías etc y mi familia tiene una curiosa tradición en torno a ello y está es escribirle una carta al espíritu de la navidad para agradecer por todo lo bueno de este año y pedir bendiciones, así mismo, queman la del año anterior y mi mamá particularmente quema una donde escribió todo lo malo del año.
La carta la dejamos en los muñecos del espíritu de la navidad que tienen como un hueco detrás o sino tienen la ponemos a sus pies o debajo de el muñeco y la quitamos luego en la mañana, eso sí, esa carta solo la puedes leer tu, es algo muy personal y hay la superstición de que si la muestras o te la leen no se dará lo que pediste, además se escribe a mano, ya sabes para que sea sin más de ti..
Está carta la guardamos para luego el siguiente año re-leerla, tachar todo lo que sí se nos dió, pedir nuevamente si queremos lo que no y posteriormente quemarla digamos cerrando un ciclo para iniciar otro.
También tenemos como una cena o algo un tanto más especial de lo normal como una pequeña celebración aunque creo que esto es más debido al día que es como una Festividad.
Está tradición la recuerdo mucho de mi infancia y aunque sencilla siento que tiene mucho significado lo veo como un acto de agradecimiento por lo bueno del año (lo cual siempre es genial) y de catarsis para sacar las malas vibras de todo lo negativo del año.
Ahora que lo pienso me recuerda a las cosas que se hacen por el solsticio de invierno que es justo en estas fechas y de hecho uno de los antepasados de estas fiestas navideñas.
Por otro lado he notado que estás fechas están llenas de tradiciones en cada casa con sus toques por ejemplo donde mi suegra es el día en que hacen las hallacas, aunque no hacen lo de la carta.
Muy interesante la verdad, yo este año que decidí retomarla no la recordaba mucho así que decido consultarle a mí mami y abuela cómo era el asunto, y me lo contaron, aunque casualmente este año no lo hicieron aunque si estábamos reunidos y celebrando porque hicimos las hallacas y además una vecina muy querida cumplía sus fabulosos 70 años.
La razón por la cual yo no lo hacía era porque particularmente no tenía mucha fé en ello y no le veía mucha ciencia al asunto por alguna razón no me llamaba la atención y hasta lo olvidé ya que en mi casa cada año con tantas cosas sucediendo, algunas pérdidas, etc ya no era una celebración tan sonada en casa y lo pasan por alto hasta con el tiempo olvidarlo casi por completo.
Este año particularmente la he tenido muy metida en la cabeza y por ello he sentido como esas ganas de meterme y hacerla. Particularmente he decidido personalizar un poco la tradición y lanzarme unos cambios hacer una ya que este año fue como una montaña rusa aunque decidí hacerla primero en él una hoja de Excel para irla visualizando, he sido breve y muy agradecido y lo solicitado, más bien es como más bien mi lista de metas del próximo año para alejarme aún más de lo negativo, un viaje personal que tiene que ver con un cambio interno, quizás por eso he sentido tantas ganas de hacerlo.

On this particular day we celebrate the entry of the Christmas spirit into our homes and I have seen that it is something that has a lot to do with change, good energy etc and my family has a curious tradition around it and that is to write a letter to the spirit of Christmas to thank him for all the good things of this year and ask for blessings, they also burn the letter from the previous year and my mum particularly burns one where she wrote all the bad things of the year.
We leave the letter in the Christmas spirit dolls that have a hole behind them or if they don't have one we put it at their feet or under the doll and remove it later in the morning, of course, this letter can only be read by you, it is something very personal and there is a superstition that if you show it or they read it to you they will not give you what you asked for, also it is written by hand, you know so that it is without more than you...
We keep this letter and then the following year we re-read it, cross out everything that was given to us, ask again if we want what we didn't get and then burn it, closing one cycle to start another.
We also have a dinner or something a bit more special than usual as a small celebration although I think this is more due to the day that is like a Festivity.
I remember this tradition from my childhood and although simple I feel it has a lot of meaning I see it as an act of thanksgiving for the good of the year (which is always great) and a catharsis to get rid of the bad vibes from all the negative things of the year.
Now that I think about it, it reminds me of the things that are done for the winter solstice which is right around this time and in fact one of the ancestors of the Christmas festivities.
On the other hand I have noticed that these dates are full of traditions in each house with their own touches, for example where my mother in law is the day they make the hallacas, although they don't do the letter.
This year I decided to take it up again, I didn't remember it so I decided to ask my mummy and grandmother what it was like, and they told me about it, although coincidentally this year they didn't do it even though we were all together and celebrating because we made the hallacas and also a very dear neighbour was celebrating her fabulous 70th birthday.
The reason why I didn't do it was because I didn't particularly have much faith in it and didn't see much science in it, for some reason it didn't catch my attention and I even forgot about it because in my house every year with so many things happening, some losses, etc. it wasn't such a big celebration at home and they overlooked it until eventually they almost completely forgot about it.
This year in particular I have had it very much in my head and that's why I have felt the desire to get involved and do it. Particularly I have decided to personalize a little the tradition and to throw myself some changes to do one since this year was like a roller coaster although I decided to do it first in an Excel sheet to visualize it, I have been brief and very grateful and requested it, rather it is more like my list of goals for next year to move away even more from the negative, a personal journey that has to do with an internal change, maybe that's why I have felt so much desire to do it.
