Dear @cautiva-30, I believe that every country has its own traditions for the end of the year. In fact, I think that my country, being a multicultural and mixed-race country, has traditions shared with other countries and, of course, its own unique ones.

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of these traditions (I wish I did), but I think my words will best illustrate them.

One of the main traditions in my country is roasting a pig. The quintessential Christmas meal is pork and yucca with mojo (a type of seasoning that consists of a mixture of vinegar or sour orange juice with sautéed garlic). Oh, and of course, rice and beans and salad.

Usually at midnight, a toast is made with a sparkling beverage such as cider or champagne. Since we are a poor, underdeveloped country, cider is generally used.

At midnight, a 21-gun salute is fired from the fortified cabin.

There is a Havana tradition that consists of walking around the ceiba tree, the city's founding monument, 12 times. But that tradition is unique to Havana.

A national tradition consists of throwing a bucket of water into the street along with a doll that represents all the bad things from the old year.

The bucket of water symbolizes the cleansing of all the bad things that are thrown out into the street.

And something else that's distinctly Cuban is the tradition of grabbing a suitcase and taking it for a walk around the block. With this, we hope to be able to travel abroad in the new year.

These are the main traditions of my country, and as you can see, some are shared with or imported from previous cultures that influenced us, while others are entirely our own. But all of them share the good intention and belief that whatever harm comes next will be much better than this.

Querida @cautiva-30, creo que cada país tiene sus propias tradiciones para el cierre del año. De hecho creo que mi país al ser un país mestizo multicultural tiene tradiciones compartidas con otros países y por supuesto la suya propias.

Lamentablemente no tengo fotos propias de estas tradiciones (me gustaría tenerlas), pero creo que son mis palabras las que mejor lo van a ilustrar.

Una de las las principales tradiciones de mi país es la de azar un puerco. La comida navideña por excelencia es el cerdo y la yuca con mojo (una especie de aliño que consiste en una mezcla de vinagre o zumo de naranja agria con sofrito de ajo). Ah, claro, y el arroz moro y la ensalada.

Por lo general a las 12 de la noche se realiza un brindis con alguna bebida espumosa como la sidra o el champán. Como somos un país subdesarrollado pobre por lo general lo que se utiliza es la sidra.
A las 12 de la noche se lanzan 21 cañonazos de salvas desde la fortaleza de la cabaña.

Hay una tradición habanera que consiste en darle 12 vueltas a la ceiba fundacional. Pero esa tradición es netamente habanera.
Una tradición nacional consiste en lanzar un cubo de agua a la calle y la llamada muñeca que representa todo lo malo del año viejo.
El cubo del agua representa la limpieza de todo lo malo que se tira hacia fuera hacia la calle.

Y algo también netamente cubano es la tradición de coger unas maletas de viaje y salir con ella a dar una vuelta a la manzana. Con estos esperamos que se nos rinde la posibilidad de salir de viaje al extranjero en el año que recién comienza.

Estas son las principales tradiciones de mi país y como ven algunas son compartidas o importadas de las anteriores culturas que nos cotizaron y otras son totalmente propias pero todas con ese buen deseo y ánimo de que daño que tiene será mucho mejor que este.
