Venezuela at a glance

I took the time to think about the current circumstances in the country.

It has simply become extremely difficult for me to understand, comprehend, or simply believe, how the economy has changed in my country, which, a few years ago, was one of the richest in Latin America.

Right now, Venezuela has the lowest minimum wage in Latin America.

7 dollars a month!

Yes, 7 dollars.

To get an idea of what that means, think about how much those 7 dollars are equivalent to the exchange rate of our internal currency, the Bolivar.

7x16= 116 Bs.

And, just to give you an idea of what that is enough to eat, yesterday we saw the price of meat at 6.7$.

That is, with the salary of the whole month, you could only buy 1 kilogram of meat, so getting medicines, meals, or other necessary things, becomes a total catastrophe for many underprivileged people.

Unfortunately, that's how it is. It saddens me immensely, especially for my family, for friends, and in general, because getting basic things, such as a simple meal, is very difficult.

Some have tried to plant a little to harvest food, but, the same situation leads many to steal what has been planted, as in the case of us, who recently stole some bunches of cambur.

It is something that makes me feel sad, a little overwhelmed, because now that we have been thinking about the possibility of traveling to another place, the idea of leaving the family does not help me either.

I know they agree, even so, for me personally, it becomes a little difficult to understand as such.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how the situation is here in the country, and well, if you can help someone here, you should know that everything is going uphill...

We've spoken about it before... I am really sorry for what has happened to Venezuela and countries like Zimbabwe closer to me... It often feels like South Africa could also go down this road. I wish people learned not to trust Politicians and their lies.
