Update on Fundraising for @enginewitty

@dfinney and @summertooth here again, to share a little update on our fundraising efforts for @enginewitty.



First off, THANK YOU!!! Thank you for your love, thank you for your generosity, thank you for sharing our original post. We stayed on trending for almost three days and received over 1500 upvotes. AMAZING!!! With the craziness and animosity in the world today, it is incredibly heartening to see so many people come together to help a friend in need. You are all the absolute best.

Thanks to each of you we have raised the following funds to benefit @enginewitty:

  • 1837.519 Hive to the @ewfund wallet
  • $166.838 HBD to the @ewfund wallet
  • 1018 Hive to @enginewitty's wallet
  • $266.635 HBD to @enginewitty's wallet
  • $550 Amazon Gift Cards
  • $100 Walmart Gift Cards

That is almost $2,200 at today's Hive to USD exchange rate. @enginewitty also reports he has received money via PayPal from folks he doesn't even know! The payout from our previous post, this post and any future posts will also be added to this total.

If you are still feeling generous here is a recap of some ways to help.


  1. Send hive/HBD donations to either this account @ewfund or directly to @enginewitty.
  2. For ETH, BSC and polygon network coins, send donations to Metamask 0x531F2B46BD97947BF7EC4dA7d86fE9BcFff5D3dc
  3. Purchase an Amazon or Walmart e-gift card. These gift cards can be sent to email address: helpwitty@gmail.com

In good news, @enginewitty reports he and the girls have found a place to live. He will be cashing in some of the gift cards shortly to get the family clothes and groceries. He plans to use the Hive/HBD on beds for the girls and a few other furniture items. Also, the family cats have been found alive and well.

For those of you in @thealliance who know Witty well, you may want to send him a hat. All but four were lost to the fire. We all know how much that guy loves a stylin' hat. :)

Thank you again to everyone. Stepping up to help and support one another is what life is all about. I know @enginewitty is grateful for all of you.

    Arson has been ruled out. The fire chief and TBI (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation) have determined it to be a faulty outlet in the closet in my office where several things were plugged in. The insurance people have us making lists of everything in the house and that is depressing as fuck going from room to room trying to remember everything that was in there. All cats accounted for! Found and buried the other 2 guinea pigs. Trying to salvage the plants that were in the house. Gave them some major TLC yesterday. Arranging utilities for the temporary condo we got from one of the doctors. Have to meet with the insurance people in the morning at the house. Big dog - Maddux - is ok at his new place and is allowed in the house. Little dog - Zoey - will be back with us this weekend at the condo, but Maddux too big for it. The two younger princesses are holding up ok and are surprisingly optimistic about the situation. Luna is real torn up over Wenzday and the Guineas. The garage is about 95% in tact - the roof has buckled a little, but everything in there is unscathed by any flames or severe smoke. Does smell in there though. Between the fire, smoke, heat and continuing water damage from the firefighters (not complaining), the house is pile of sludgy slop.

      Losing your beloved companion Wenzday as well as the princesses' Guinea pigs in such a horrific manner is unimaginable and it sucks, for lack of a better word. I fondly remember all of the stories about Wenzday's silly antics throughout the years. They will live on the blockchain forever. My heart goes out to you and the family, Witty. 🐾💔🐾

              @ewfund & @enginewitty I was away from Hive for a few days due to travel and came back to find this devastating news. I have tried to help by transferring some HBD to @enginewitty though my holdings are meager. I wish I could do lots more. Will try to share more in future as my posts earn more.
              I pray to god that @enginewitty and family return to their original lifestyle and routine fast. Take care
