The year is gradually going by. It's a few days to a new year. 2026 is just by the corner watching as 2025 waves goodbye to us. At the beginning of this year, 2025, many people set a new year resolution. Some people tried and accomplished the goals they set for themselves. Some people didn't accomplished everything but they equally tried while others probably did not put in any efforts towards achieving their goals this year.

The night is quite bright. There's no moon shining but the beauty of the night is giving a really good vibes. Reflecting on the things I failed to accomplish, I can't help it but gradually sink into disappointment. I'm quite disappointed at my inability to achieve all that I set out to achieve.
Sometimes, we feel like failures because we fail to achieve a certain goal. Peer pressure can be a lot to handle. Seeing your friends so well in life while you are still navigating your way around life, sometimes, makes people feel like they are failures. It's quite understandable.
But then, is there anything like true failure? So, today, I learnt another Korean adage that speaks about failure and success. "실패는 성공의 어머니이다." (Silpaeneun seonggongui eomeoniida). This translates to "Failure is the mother of success."
Where I am from, there's a popular saying that goes like this: "Hard times be like sugar, without am, the story no go sweet." This means: "Hard times are like sugar, without facing hard times (failures) your success story would not be interesting to tell to upcoming people.
I don't really think there is a thing as failure. The fact that somebody made a mistake or has a delayed success does not actually mean that they are failures. Unless an individual totally gives up on their dreams or goals out of despair and sink deep into depression or something, I don't really think that person has failed.

Personally, I think it's good to make mistakes. Gain experience from those mistakes and move on. The experience gained from a mistake is what will help illuminate my path towards greatness.
I don't really give in to peer pressure. I don't get sad if somebody is doing better than me. I believe in the fact that everyone has a time to shine. Just as how there is a difference in the time when the sun and moon shines, I also believe that there is a difference between when I shine and when another person shines.
Life is an interesting place to be in. I don't want to waste it being depressed or feeling like a failure. Instead, I want to spend it doing what I love doing. Trying my best to be the best while making mistakes and learning the lessons that comes with it. Growing and reaching new heights. There's absolutely no time to feel like a failure. My mistakes are the foundation to my success.
