When i came across the question for the week on the need for gurus or teachers for spiritual growth i can only come to one conclusion judging from my experience in the Christendom and the understanding of God and His principles that one needs divine wisdom and teachings for one to be able to grow spiritually. This moreso important as by default, the bible says faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. This word is thought by spiritually seasoned apostles whose ministry has been ordained and guaranteed by God.
There has been no one in History and even living that has attained a level of spiritual growth and spirituality without a certain degree of mentorship and encounter either directly by God or by God's people.

I thank God for the life of Apostle Joshua Selman who has been my mentor over the years and His teachings about God has proven that he has been seasoned and tested by God himself. He has passed through the cave of Adullam and has come into the marvelous light to teach, to preach and to set the captives free. for one to grow spiritually in the Christendom, one must have to pass through several test, a cave of Adullam experience where you let go of everything you have and you are and come forth into the marvelous light being a new creature.

Make no mistake, a guru majorly is one who is endowed with the wisdom of this world and things of the world but a teacher, an apostle, a rabbi is one who has been endowed with divine wisdom to pass knowledge of the hidden secrets of the the spirituality of Christendom to new believers to aid their growth.
When it comes to Spirituality and spiritual growth the concepts and factors that works with the acquisition of knowledge in the circular world does not conform to the operations of the spiritual realm. In the spiritual realm, understanding God himself requires the death of you as an individual in the sense that the price to pay for all of God is all of You. the bible says that verily verily i say unto you except a man be born against he cannot see the kingdom of God. the first process of spiritual growth is wiping the slate clean which means your body has to die first and cleansed for you to come alive in the light of God's word through the ministration of the Holy spirit.
In the acquisition of Knowledge Gurus are need and in the sense of spiritual growth Apostles are needed coupled with the ministration of the Holy spirit giving insight into the understanding of God and things of God. Apostles and spiritual teachers bring's light to our darkness and illuminates our mind, opening our eyes to the things of the spirirt.
Your contribution to this topic is really awesome and interesting to deliberate on. We live in a world where for you to succeed or gain ideas you need to learn from someone or follow their steps to succeed or gain important ideas in a particular situation. Those spiritual leaders we know today are not perfect but have what they can share to strengthen your own believe as well in a spiritual situation in other words we can learn from anybody since what they offer is meaningful to change or add value to one's life.
Thanks for your comment, until we all realize that we can't be islands of knowledge then we'd submit ourselves to the tutelage of those that are season in the spiritual doctrines under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Your ideas about the need of a guru in spiritualty to attain perfection is excellent. You can't do some religious activities and gain knowledge without a guru.
Thanks, i am glad you found my submission insightful. I look forward to reading much more insightful posts here even as i contribute my quota to the @ecotrain community
There is a saying, 'As we learn everyday, we grow to be better'. Knowledge is unlimited which adds up with what you said here 👇
Even our teachers and Gurus learn every day but the difference is the experience they have already. Without their teaching and guidance we would follow the wrong path.
Wonderful piece you have here!Thank you for participating in the QOTW your work is appreciated!
science says the most constant thing in life is growth and for growth to occur there are several factors that work independently and interdependently which is relative to the concept in discussion. one of the factors to growing spiritually is learning from those that have been under the tutelage of the Holy spirit and have given themselves to the service of the almighty God without fear or prejudice to any man.

Yes, no one has attained the level of spirituality without the help of a mentor. We can't underestimate their existence in our journey of life to lead us in the right path. I strongly believe that we need either guru or teacher who are sound spiritually to get us on the right track to spirituality. Thank you for this interesting post.
