Well-written, I totally understand your sentiment. I have personally chosen never to bring a child into this world for a variety of reasons, mostly because there are plenty of children already here without homes and parents. That being said, I'm very cool with being a stepdad that's more engaged than most dads.
Well, should you ever choose to become a parent, you have the right mindset my friend.
Thank you! It's always lovely to hear, even though that may never actually happen. My aim has always been trying to be a good person, and doing well at it should have that as a consequence. Also, who knows what will happen, and while not procreating, one can still be a wonderful uncle, teacher, neighbor, friend, or as in your case, stepdad.
