QUESTION OF THE WEEK 9.5: "DO YOU BELIEVE IN DESTINY OR KARMA? CAN BOTH BE TRUE?"

in ecoTrain3 years ago (edited)

Thanks ecotrain for this amazing question of the week, it's indeed a great pleasure to be among this great family.

Firstly, what is KARMA? According to a thesaurus dictionary, Karma is a force or law of nature which causes one to reap what one sows; while DESTINY on the other hand means that to which any person or thing is destined; a predetermined state; a condition predestined by the Divine or by human will. That is to say that Karma can be refered to an action of a person that can influence the future like the saying goes 'to every action, there must be a corresponding effect', so Karma has to do with cause and effect because every man on earth must reap what he has sown either good or bad, there must be a result at the end.

Let us take for example, a man in my community married two wives and had 4 children from the two wives, one female and two boys from the first wife he loved so much and from his second wife he has one female child whom he dispises so much. Whatever the second wife does to please him annoys him the more to the extent that the hatred for his second wife affected the innocent daughter who was always maltreated by not just the father but also by the first wife and her children. The second wife endured all from the husband who has planted hatred as a seed in his family but as life will have it, what goes around, comes around. The wife left him with the child to start a solitary life and she got help, her daughter finished her education and got was about to get married, her spouse requested to see her father and she took him to the man who maltreated her as a child and was sick to the point of death and was in need of blood, that was when he discovered that the three children from his first wife were never his offsprings, but the same girl he maltreated and threw out of the house was his real child and she was the only one who could donate to him but her mother who was the second wife refused because of the wickedness that the man did to her. So this story narrates that the man plabted the seed if hatred in his family and karma returned the favour. So in some cases KARMA is natural, it is the result of the seed sown.

Destiny is when a man takes control of his life, makes decisions, learn from mistakes and correct them in order to determine what happens in the future. To simply put these words, destiny can be controlled by man. Man has the power to change the course of his life through his present actions. A man can be born into a poor family, which is fate, but it is his fault if he remains poor till he dies because his own destiny is in his hands, if he wants to remain poor or if he wants to change his status in future depends decisions . The richest man in the world did not just become rich by wishing to be rich, despite the fact Bill Gates dropped out of Havard in 1975, did not hinder his life chances, he used what he has to change the course of his life.
Destiny can also work hand in hand with karma but this depends on the life situation, furthermore I believe that destiny and karma are real and not just mere illusions.
