I live in Lagos State, Nigeria. I was returning from work on Friday evening when I saw in Oshodi, (my fellow Lagosians will understand) a lady carrying two babies on both shoulders. She also had another baby tied with a wrapper around her back. There was a little boy walking beside her about the age of 5 years old also carrying another baby.
The four babies were wearing the same type of clothing. They were about 3 months old or so. It was obvious the lady had a quadruplet.
What actually drew my attention to her was the fact that herself and her kids were umkept. The kids looked very malnourished and were wearing dirty clothes.
I was in so much pain. Why bring kids into this world to suffer?. I thought to myself probably she had that boy walking beside her first and then got pregnant without the intention of having quadruplet (four babies). She had no control over this.
What about other women who are in terrible conditions and keep giving birth every year, subjecting the kids to pain and hardship.
I feel sad when I see kids on the streets begging when they should be in school. I blame their parents. If you don't have the financial capacity to raise a child, you shouldn't have them. If you are so desperate to have kids then you should have just one.

Although there are some exceptions like cases of rape that results into pregnancy, kids separated from their families as a result of war, natural disasters or death etc. These kids will be deprived of a normal childhood of love and care.
I like China's birth control policy because it not only helps to curb population growth but to also improve the welfare of women and children. I think this should be implemented worldwide.
I am a Nigerian and the poverty rate in Nigeria is about 40 percent of the total population - The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) . It's common to see women in my country giving birth to more than five children with no means of raising them.
According to Unicef, children deprived of parental care, can endure physical, psychological, emotional and social harm – with consequences that last a lifetime. These children are also more likely to experience violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
In my opinion, couples who are living in poverty should wait till they are ready both financially and mentally before bringing kids to this world. We already have enough children suffering, let's not add to the numbers.

You point is right to many of the cases but there are some alternative examples as well. The level of poverty malnutrition and having higher number of baby is a problem obviously but many of the pages they are not the the responsible for the problem rather reach are implementing policies which is making them poor and below poverty level.
China is coming out from its policy of one child. To maintain the human race we need not to stop birth. If you just look at the families of the rich then you will find many of them are not eager to conceive baby. In that case, the rate should consider at least higher number but we can see they are controlling. There is a mixed attitude we can see in this world and I just want to mention that we people are responsible for that as we are not taking care of poor of our surrounding or even sometimes we are making such a policy so that they stay poor.
You are right about the concept of baby according to financial condition but most importantly if we can nurture our baby's then it is a good way to come out of the financial problem. You may disagree with me but this is my view point
You are right. I am not disputing that fact. There are people who are lazy that's why they are poor but there are also others who are genuinely hustling but the government policies are not favoring them.
They still shouldn't have so many kids. The means of taking care of them is not available.
That's very true, although the policy has its advantages but there were loopholes like maintaining human race as you have mentioned.
The rich make policies to make themselves richer so the poor can remain poorer. Before we are able to fix this, what I am saying is let's not add to the numbers of children suffering.
