After Joshua sent the people away, the Israelites each went to his inheritance to take possession of the land. 7 The people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who survived [a] Joshua, who had witnessed [b] the great work that the LORD had done for Israel. 8 Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died at the age of 110. 9 And they buried him in the territory of his inheritance, in Timnat Sera [c], in the mountainous region of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaas. 10 Also all that generation was gathered to their fathers. And another generation arose after them that did not know the LORD, nor the work that He had done for Israel. Judges 2: 6-10 New International Version (NIV)

After the death of Joshua, something important happened that gives the answer to the question that encompasses the title of this message that I share with you.
We know that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. It is not a fear based on fear, but rather on respect and love for God.
Having knowledge of the existence and love of God should lead us to transmit to our generations and descendants all this broad love and knowledge of God. It is not that only parents serve and know God, but that their children and their children's children grow up in this knowledge and in the fear of the Lord. This will help each generation to rise up in holiness and with a heart willing to know the Lord and his word.
The knowledge of God enhances the values in the family and helps the children grow up in an environment of consecration to God and be instruments of benefits for society.
When Joshua died, a generation arose that did not know about God and the work that God had done for the people of Israel, which resulted in this generation turning away from God and serving the pagan gods of the other nations that they had stayed in the promised land.
It is the responsibility of Christian parents to instruct their children in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to keep his commandments and pass them on from one generation to another, in which God's love flows for the blessing of both the family and the nation where inhabit.
The success of raising successful children will always depend on parents who are willing to instruct their children as God commands in his word.
I believe that's the right path to show our children the way of the Lord in other for them to live a good life.
I agree with you that parents needs to lead their children in the ways of God and teach them all they need to know about God so that if they live this world, the path they have left for their children would continue to go from generation to generation. It's important to teach children in the way of the Lord. Thank you for sharing.
