It is by the way one of the most important crop in this part of the world, both in the local diet and for the economy.
it has been traditionally grown here since the Romans introduced it and some trees actually date back to that time.
almost every village has an olive oil press and harvest time is a very special time of year as everybody is "gone" picking. we´ve just over 100 olive trees on the farm and they annually yield up to a ton of olives. some year are "better" then others.

That's great to know, it is kind of equivalent to coconuts in the Philippines. Good luck on your harvest!
