We cultivated hundreds of moringa trees on November 28, 2020, on behalf of celebrating National Tree Day. This event got many engagements that came from the local communities, students, and institutions. While Odesa Indonesia has planted thousands of moringa crops, we guess that number is still small. Many grounds could be cultivated and Moringa highly on demand.
This event is a part of a campaign of moringa to villagers. We are on struggling to shift their former beliefs. They are sure that Moringa is a mystical plant, that's all. Basically, a botanical study in Indonesia has not become the main intention.
Consequently, Villagers' comprehension to beneficial of trees is still based on mystical belief. There is nothing really wrong with this. It is being a mistake when a belief is exclusive and does not accept any development of science.
What we trying to say about Moringa to them is that this tree is also beneficial to our physical health and land. This information may take years. We could not campaign it except cultivating it as much as possible and giving it to them for free.
Later, the community would grasp its benefits by themselves. It would trigger their initiative to plant moringa and take it beneficial. This possibility would become true when they get that moringa is useful for the health of the body and the preservation of nature.
This project is prominent. It is related to public health and ecological solution. Many of the local community still face stunting problems. Meanwhile, access to health services is limited as well as to healthy food. I ever accompanied a kid from this local community to a health service.
The distance between his home and the health service is 3 km. We haven't built yet a health service like a hospital, but our effort is to maintain the health of the body from any disease. In other words, planting moringa is meant to be a solution to preventive steps in healthy things.
Planting moringa in a huge number is an effort to make this plant accessible to the community. It is possible because we start it from the nursery movement. The activity has been initiated in 2018 and is still ongoing today.
