RE: The Latin American Report # 256

I don't think principle is a matter of degree. I reckon your visibility is fine without the self-votes unless you can cite an example where your warning is lost below hundreds of comments. Given such example I will concede. Otherwise I think that self-voting is scummy, and I don't think you merit a scummy aroma. It's been too long demonstrated to be a means of maximizing ROI by really vile scum for anything but demonstrable exigency to justify it for anyone else. That being said, I don't want to discourage you from your beneficial work, which is why I request an example that shows it's necessary, or that you cease doing it.

Thanks for the courtesy of your substantive reply.

It happened before during previous waves of spam (no, I would not be able to find it now). My comment was below 10 others and someone else fell for the scam. That's why I added that tiny self-vote. Clearly it's not making me any profit. I never received any funding for any of my Hive projects and they usually run at a loss...!

Honestly, I didn't check the value of the vote. I feel your work is highly beneficial, and that I reacted to the fact of the self-vote based on my feelings about abusers whose only intent was to extract maximal funds from the rewards pool, and I should not have. In fact, when I saw the notification of a comment from you, my first reaction was concern I had been hacked again!

I apologize for troubling you about a trifling matter I should have been more attentive to details regarding before speaking. My past concerns with profiteers are not any excuse to treat you like one of them.

I'm sorry.

Thanks, appreciate that 🙂
