Why do we call this idiocy? Because only an idiot could believe that story. Pavel Durov lived in Dubai and had both – citizenship of the United Arab Emirates and France. If there was knowledge that he was involved in a criminal act, the procedure is simple: France should send the UAE government evidence and a request for extradition. Since both countries have a treaty on mutual extradition, there would be no problem at all. Instead, there is no request for extradition, but the indictment is raised only after he was arrested with the explanation that the warrant was issued only a few hours earlier! It is clearly an intelligence job to KIDNAPPE a man, not hunt down a criminal.

Telegram team has published a statement on this case, but…

I think reasonable people can grasp that automakers should be arrested and charged with complicity in running down pedestrians, drivers carrying drugs, minors, undeclared cash, weapons, and anti-Micron rhetoric playing on radios, if Durov should be arrested for making Telegram. Why isn't there a warrant for the CEO of Lockheed Martin that has clearly aided and abetted genocide in Palestine? Boeing for it's kidnapping of Butch and Sunny in the ISS?

Censorship isn't to block lies. It's blocking truth.
