I was wrong. Okay, maybe not entirely wrong, but wrong enough that it made me wicked happy. What am I babbling about? The Hive Power Up Day preliminary results, of course...lol!
Feedback from the June 1st Hive Power Up Day post...I'll get to how wrong I was in a moment, but first, as always, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to this month's Hive Power Up Day, either through powering up, posting, offering prizes, or spreading the word. As I said on @hivebuzz's
Given we're in the midst of a bear market, I was fully expecting a relatively quiet Power Up Day to finish off the first half of the year. I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that didn't seem to be the case at all. I don't think we had any record breaking numbers, but based on the notifications on both my Hive and Twitter, I think plenty of folks are taking advantage of the low, low, sale price of Hive to do some stacking!
If we do have as much participation as I'm guessing, it will be extra awesome given that this month also marks two years since I started managing HivePUD after the initiative's creator went unexpectedly afk. I'm still holding out hope @streetstyle will some day stop by for a visit - if/when he does, I have no doubt he'll be absolutely amazed by how much his original vision has taken hold and grown since April 2019!
As always, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on the blockchain, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day, and for continuing to add to the blockchain fun. And here's to all the Hiveans, new and old, who continue to increase their voting power and influence on the blockchain - congratulations to you all!
5K contribution, and even without that the total amount powered up from everyone exceeded last month. So well done to everyone who can now say...So to explain how I was kinda sorta wrong - I was correct that we didn't break any records with participation, but I was totally wrong that it was a quiet day. We had an electrifying return to HivePUD from @splatts with his
To break it all down, we had 101 qualifying entries for the prize pool (compared to 95 in May) with 161 total entries (compared to 151 last month) and 166 posts with either the #HivePUD, #HPUD, and/or #HispanicHPUD tags on the first (exactly the same as last month).
As for the overall number, the power ups ranged from 0.002 to 5000.000 Hive Power, for a grand total of...
27,156.438 Hive Powered Up!
By comparison, the total in May was 16,245.238 (which was about a 60% increase from April), so this month's increase is (if I counted on my fingers and toes correctly) around 67% from last month! Wicked cool to see such a big bump up while the price is down, and I hope that continues next month if we're still having a ...
