Excited to POWER some Hive up!

in Hive Power2 years ago

I am officially brain fried! Oh man, did I do some research on Hive today!!!! Yes, I know I told you all that I have been reading blogs from so many different writers over the last few months and before I had even signed up to hive, but once I actually "got here" and signed in on my new account it was like WOAH there is so much to learn!!!

Communities, upvotes, powering, re-sharing, tags and so many other things that almost made my head freeze.

For the first hour I kept trying to post my introduction and it kept failing. It was actually so silly and totally laughable because I kept staring at that error message and I wasnt even reading the darned thing!

Then I read it and my brain finally kicked in! teehee! So I powered up the little bit of savings I had moved over and like magic it all worked. I felt so dumb in that moment. thanks to that there was nobody to see me being so ignorant. I guess we have to be here to live and learn.

I spent almost my whole day today reading and learning whatever I can about how this all works and even though my brain now feels like an over ripe banana, I have to admit that I actually feel a little bit accomplished and definitely knowing a little more, I can go on!!! yay!!

ok, so I discovered the community I have posted this into "hive power". I almost posted it into leo finance, but I had a look at the description and some of the posts already there and, well they just made me feel a little bit like a stupid artist, so I guessed I was in the wrong space. I actually googled "powering up hive" and I found so much information. More than my teeny brain could handle actually. but all that searching did lead me to some good stuff! yay again!

I don't even know if I am doing this right and I am new here so I also dont know if it even counts, but so, today I decided to power some more Hive. I don't have a lot but from the moment I got here, everyone has been so amazing to me. That was one of the reasons I decided to read and learn more in the first place.

So now, I have powered up whatever I can. I see so many people do this on the first day of the month but I am excited and decided to do it today! It is ok if it doesnt matter! I have powered up 483 Hive today and also 100 when I signed up!

I probably don't even really understand how this all works completely but I am really excited! So now, I have 585 hive power! Happy dance!

Through all the chaos today, I opened hive.blog in one instance and I didnt understand why everything all looked so different. Then later, I realised there are different places to share from and the other times I had used Peakd. Today, I also saw another one called liketu - all I could gather was it is a photography space but couldnt see any information on the home page... perhaps someone can educate me?

It has been an interesting day! I have learnt a lot! I got a little bit of a lot!

I am so wanting to connect with more of you but will need you to show and tell me how! Pleeeeez!

Excited!
and thanks so much again, for having me. I am going to try out some of the tags I saw today... probably doing it wrong, but you can help! :) <3

I still have a lot of questions but I guess I will learn one by one!

Check out the last post from @hivebuzz:

Hive Power Up Day - September 1st 2022
Support the HiveBuzz project. Vote for our proposal!

Thank you :)

I still need to learn what that means, but YAY! and thank you :)

Congratulations on becoming a Minnow @exploringella 🎉🎉🎉

Thx so much :)

You're welcome @exploringella

BTW, I noticed I miss your witness vote 😢
Do you mind casting one to me? It would be much appreciated!

Hi :)

I still need to learn what that is all about. as soon as I do then I will get to that :D

On the Hive blockchain, witnesses serve the role of validating signatures and timestamping transactions by including them in blocks. A block is any group of transactions (posts, votes, transfers, etc) that update the state of the database.

Witnesses are generally expected to manage a reliable block-producing node, implement a failover system, maintain a public seed node, tune blockchain operating parameters, publish correct price feeds, author/discuss improvement proposals, review code changes, and be active! Some contribute to core repositories. Some fund the development of other apps and infrastructure projects.

Every round of block production begins with the shuffling of 21 witnesses: the top 20 witnesses (by vote), plus one backup witness. Each is given a turn to produce a single block at a fixed rate of one block every 3 seconds. If a witness does not produce a block in their time slot, then that time slot is skipped, and the next witness produces the next block.

You can see the witness list here
You can see the live block production here

By voting for a witness, YOU choose which ones you trust to ensure the security of the blockchain.

You can read the HiveBuzz user guide to get all explanations about levels, notifications and their meaning.

Congrats on the awesome Power UP! In my opinion, it's good to collect and power up some Hive since our Hive Power is what determines how much we can Up Vote the value of posts we appreciate. It is one way we can help others on here, and my philosophy is that we're here on earth to work together with others and help each other out.

I like your line art! I feel like the lines establish order while the colors and other elements add some exciting randomness. In my opinion, the middle lane between total order, where you always know what's coming next, and complete randomness where you never know what's coming, is the most interesting and productive lane to be in. So I've subscribed and look forward to following your Hive journey. I'm interested to see what you will share with us! :)

Thx :) I was excited to do it! and am starting to understand better. Thx for the compliment on my drawings and I like your theory about the lines :)

Dear @exploringella, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a bit more support to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency,

Hive.blog / https://wallet.hive.blog/proposals
or using HiveSigner.

Your support will be really appreciated.
Thank you!
