Hi, educators!
Today I will start a teacher's diary. It tells about my experiences as a teacher, whether in the classroom, outside the classroom or in the school environment in my capacity as a teacher.
I started this journal with group learning in the classroom. I divided the class into two large groups, a male group, and a female group. I wanted the two groups to discuss word usage. By the way, I am an Arabic teacher. So, when it comes to word usage, there are femina (muannath) and non-femina (mudzakkar) words.
Group learning in the classroom provides a great learning experience for students. They can gain new information from peer tutors (classmates). They can also discuss and exchange ideas on a problem they must solve.
Not only that, but group learning in the classroom can also build good social relationships. I encourage my students to interact with each other and be active in their groups. If there is a difference of opinion, they must respect each other and use the best argument. So, a democratic system is also created here.
In addition, I also expect each student in the group to work together by establishing unidirectional communication. Communication is essential in building relationships, so the ability to work together in groups will also be good.
Group learning in the classroom is a method we can apply to make it easier for students to understand the learning objectives. The key to this method is working together. The teacher's role is only as a mediator. I watch and occasionally give feedback to each group on their work.
If there are students who are less active in the group, I encourage them to participate in their respective groups. It is also challenging to convince students to communicate actively in their groups. These students are shy and afraid of being wrong when giving a statement.
The class proceeded in an orderly manner. After finishing the group study, I asked them to collect their assignments. Today there is no presentation, as I tend to give individual assessments.
The students return to their seats. The teacher's diary ends today.
I would love to share my educational experience on another occasion.
