Last week I taught you how to set up the chessboard.
This week we are going to learn how the soldiers move.
The Rook
The Rook is the second strongest soldier on the board. He is stronger than a bishop. The Rook can move forward backwards and sideways.
As indicated here.
The bishops
The bishops cannot move forward or backwards like a rook.. It can only move diagonally.
@ The Queen
The Queen is the soldier with the most power. She is your best and strongest soldier on the board. The Queen can move in all directions.
The Knight
The Knight is the only chess piece that can jump over other soldiers. A Knight jumps in an el form in other words three blocks forward and two blocks sideways.Or two blocks forward and then three blocks sideways.
The King
The King must be protected at all times because if he is killed you have lost the war.
The King moves like an old man with a wooden leg. It moves in the same way as the queen but only one block at a time. Remember the king has a sore leg.
Pawns
Pawns stand in the front row. All the other soldiers stand behind them.Paws move forward and capture obliquely. You have a choice of moving two blocks forward or one block. Pawns can only move one block at a time.
Pawns are the weakest soldiers on a chessboard and also the most valuable pieces on a chessboard.
When a pawn comes to the other side you can choose which chess piece you want to replace it with.
Of course we would all like more queens because they have more power than any other chess piece
Thank you very much for your interest and support.
