Noble Words : Beware the storm brewing within🔥

Recently, I have watched the movie Anger management starring Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson. The vies does teaches us lessons if controlling our anger. But not all individual are well equipped in managing anger. Anger does exist in everybody, but few manage it intelligently, while many spoil many things in life due to anger. Our ancestors has following words to say about anger :

अपूर्वः कोSपि कोपाग्निः सज्जनस्य खलस्य च|

एकस्य शाम्यते स्नेहाद्वर्धतेSन्यस्य वारितः||

Apoorvah kopi kopaagnih sajjanasya khalasya cha.
Ekasya shaamyate snehaadvardhatenyasya vaaritah.

apoorva = unique, novel
Kopi = no doubt about.
Kopaagnih = kopa + agnih.
Kopa = rage, anger.
Agni = fire.
Kopaagni = a fiery rage.
Sajjanasya = a virtuous and respectable person's.
Khalasya = a wicked person's.
Cha = and.
Ekasya = former's
Shaamyate = subdued, extinguished.
Shehadvardhatenyasya = snehaad + vardhate + anyasya.
Snehaad = by affection, courteous behaviour.
Anyasya = the latter's.
Vardhate = rises, flares up. Vaaritah = prevented, restrained.

There is no doubt that the fire of anger among virtuous and respectable persons as also wicked persons is unique in many respects. The former's gets extinguished by a courteous behaviour, whereas the latter's anger flares up when an attempt is made to subdue it.

In the above verses, the anger in persons has been compared to a burning fire and a distinction has been made between the anger of virtuous and wicked persons and the way they behave when they are angry and an attempt is made to subdue their anger. Different people manage their anger in a variety of ways, including: physical activities like exercise, relaxation techniques like deep breathing, cognitive strategies like identifying triggers, expressing feelings assertively, taking timeouts, seeking professional help when necessary,

Managing anger can be difficult because it's a powerful emotion that can quickly overwhelm us, causing impulsive reactions, making it hard to think clearly, and often leading to saying or doing things we later regret. Better we be mindful and behave intelligently, before reacting or blasting off.

Learning is Passion!!
