Chinese Chess - The Chariot

in Education3 years ago

Already we are up to the third lesson in Chinese Chess! By now you should know how to move the pawn (soldier) and the cannon (artillery). You should know not only how to recognise the chinese characters but also how to pronounce the characters in Chinese, due to my clear explanations (shameless self promotion LoL).

In this video you will learn about the most powerful piece in the game - the chariot. It is literally almost the same as the rook in English Chess - but it is the most powerful as there is not really a Queen in Chinese chess - there are pieces that move diagonally but nothing as powerful as the queen (or even the bishop for that matter).

Not only will you learn about how to move it, but as usual you will learn about the pronounciation and the history of the writing. I will also demonstrate it using a chess app from the Microsoft Store called "Chinese Chess Online".

Enjoy the video!
