Greetings and welcome dear readers who are passionate about topics of environmental interest with contributions on the welfare of society in general, as has been constant this type of content I usually share it through the community of @education, who have remained at the forefront on issues of different nature.
In this sense and with the aim of giving a conceptual approach based on the approaches of the title of this paper, we will rely on the report "Putting Sustainability at the Top of the Telco Agenda" where it is stipulated that data processing through the different technological equipment associated with ICT have caused a considerable increase in carbon dioxide emissions on our planet.

At this point, telecommunications companies generate 1.6% of the total annual missions that enter our atmosphere and have a negative impact on the balance of our planetary systems, hence it is estimated that in the following years this industry will undergo severe restrictions at the European level due to its impact on our environment.
Another relevant fact that we can visualize in the report Putting Sustainability at the Top of the Telco Agenda is that the increase in the use of technological equipment is associated with the period of confinements generated by Covid-19, where electricity rates show the exorbitant energy consumption in times of pandemic.

According to the projections made by the BCG team of researchers, carbon dioxide emissions from technological use could exceed 14% by 2030 if we continue at the accelerated pace we are at the moment, which would be contrary to the planetary objectives set for 2030.
In this sense, it is necessary that companies associated with ICT, implement measures, standards or policies in the face of environmental changes, associated with the operation of companies as well as the awareness of consumers.
A clear example for the process would be to achieve an adequate optimization of technological equipment in terms of energy consumption, where renewable sources are a viable alternative to achieve this task, without forgetting the ecological footprint left by equipment suppliers and industries responsible for manufacturing technological components. It is necessary to implement the principles of a circular economy that allows us to address the problem holistically and without neglecting any of the edges of the problem.

At the European level, great strides have been made in environmental matters, and there is currently evidence of a commitment on the part of technology companies, which are projected to reduce their direct carbon footprint by more than 60%, as well as those generated indirectly by the telecommunications industry.
