A new variant of Covid-19 is detected in south Africa, Hong Kong and Botswana. However, the world health organization-WHO having undergone the lap test named the new variant OMICRON(B.1.1.529). According to WHO, this strain has a high risk of reinfection hence should not be taken for granted.
With this 'variant of concern', how prepared are the countries of the world toward contending this more deadlier virus.?
Can the world still afford another lockdown?, Can it afford another Lost of lives and economic melt down?.. if answers to those questions affirms the negative then we all should rise up and fight back this new monster in town.
It's a commendable efforts by some countries like the United States and the united kingdom to issue travel ban on countries from Southern Africa. Meanwhile, a travel ban also are placed by 27 members of the European Union on south Africa countries. This is geared towards ameliorating the escalation of the deadly virus. Notwithstanding, other countries should rise up and guard their national borders from OMICRON.
Remember that covid-19 can be prevented by regular washing of hands
Wearing of a nose masks
Avoiding contact with infected person(s)
Taking vaccines
Visiting health center when feeling unwell.
