Consistency In Learning

Hi there. In this education post, I would like to talk about consistency in learning.

Consistency in learning would refer to doing regular homework, keeping with up practice problems in more technical and problem solving based subjects. This is also avoid cramming everything to the last minute for assignments and test preparations.

Regular Practice For Building Skills & Improving Memory

In a lot of cases, memory for certain topics can be improved through repeated exposure and through recall exercises. One good example of recall exercises would be from flashcards. Flashcards are good in testing if you can memorize and recall information. Other good recall exercises include working through practice problems and even mock tests if you can find them.

One could relate school to dance practice and martial arts practice. The classes are for learning, building and developing new skills and for keeping the skills sharp. When a class is missed, you fall behind and you would have to do the work to catch up. In some cases, you may have to work harder if you fall behind whenever a class is missed. Too many missed classes would set a person back to the point where they have to relearn material.

Other Notes

Those who pay for regular tutoring services, dance classes, martial arts classes and other hobbies should use up their hours per month. Unused hours would not only hold a child back from learning but also the paid money would not be put into good use. Why pay for something that is not being used?

Regular practice and learning helps in maintain a certain level of skill and memory. More practice should lead to faster learning and results. However, rest is important too. You don't want to overdo it.
